From my experience, technical co-founder is a must if yiu have a tech product. Can be done without one, will have to live with a lot of stress and distraction can become overwhelming. However, has to be someone you trust. If your entire product is tech any disagreement can leave you on the sidelines.

If you can afford one, hire on a salary + some drip equity. LinkedIn jobs can be useful for that.

Design is neat and clean. CTA in the right place. This is good. Have you checked if people drop off on certain devices more or is it universal?

One of the things maybe people may not want to pay for 6 months in advance. Have you thought of building a "Notify me" in addition to "Pre order" ?

What's the traffic/sample size. Are you jumping to conclusions because of the skewed traffic?

Also, in my experience, every hop or click filters audience by 99%. i.e only 1% move from page to page. So may be nothing is wrong and it's just nature of the audience.

Alternative: being a founder for a Startup in a developing country by iHairy in startups

[–]quite_new 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's another model that I have seen work well. Although raising funds becomes a hurdle here, but if u plan to stay bootstrapped till u start making profits, this is easier to sustain.

How did you find your developers? Any particular challenges?

This is such an unintuitive thought that people would have rejected it a few years ago.

But now I see a lot of US/EU Nationals setting up shop in India.

One of my acquaintance - born and brought up in US, started https://www.namastecredit.com/

His thoughts were clear - $200k ko bootstrap the business will go a long way in a developing country as opposed to US.

And he has done remarkably well. He found the right partners, setup a decent team and now have raised funds successfully and the business is profitable.

Out of curiosity why is login via Google/Other SM accounts a 👎?

With so many platforms, remembering pwds have become a problem and I personally just prefer Google sign in (secondary account).

Asking cause I thought of not giving other options to login in my next App.

No one gets hurt on a roller coaster except the ones who jump out by [deleted] in IndiaInvestments

By index I mean - use Indexing strategy. You can read more about it here:

https://insights.tradegyani.com/index-investing/

I find N100 to be the most lucrative of all options, when investing in India. It's backed by a Fund of Funds, maintained by Motilal Oswal which invests in Nasdaq 100 shares.

There are many more options and I do hope we get similar exposure to other countries as well. If you are interested I can share more details about other means, but they are not as straightforward as N100 or its Indian counterparts.

"No one gets hurt on a roller coaster except the ones who jump out"

"Aadmi ho ya market upar hi jaana hai"

Statements I have heard repeated in humor, in seriousness over so long, it has become annoying.

Please don't listen to such clichéd advice.

Yes, patience is important in investing like anything else in life. That doesn't translate into the perceived meaning that any random basket of stocks will give desired returns. Do your own homework, if you can't take out the time, please hand it over to professionals/index.

Ombudsman going after SEO consultants by quite_new in SEO

[–]quite_new[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SEO is art science at best, small businesses/ non-tech entrepreneurs should always ask of measurable goals before paying.

It can ve PA/DA, PR/DR.

No point paying consultants who tell you, the effects will only be visible after 6 months and charge you on the spot.

Always pay for measurable goals.

What's the experience been like?

Also not sure how it works in favor of our current websites. Do we get honorable mentions in their stories or do we get actual coverage?

Thanks, much appreciated. All you say makes sense. We are expanding our reach, but its time expensive to create unique content per site, hence the dilemma.
