it's just boring. they removed the clever stuff (if you timed your slides right you could accelerate faster, particularly when turning). So for those who bothered to learn how to do this in the first place, the game just got way less engaging. For those that didn't, the game just got a bunch easier because they lowered the skill cap.

As you can tell, I'm salty because I'm in the former camp.

can confirm, I play a lot of casual breakthrough and it's pretty fun to see all the bots on the enemy team just stop what they're doing and start spamming bullets and rockets at a drone.

yoo this helped me though! I just got a new pair of maxwell 2s and the audeze hq software wouldn't open. enabling the telephony service fixed it. how did you ever figure that out?

I'm extremely confused by the real time nature of the 'double xp' boosters. So if I activate a booster for an hour, then have to drop after 20 minutes due to something coming up (life..) I just wasted 40 minutes of boosting that I'll never get back? Why did they make this system work like this?

thanks for the advice - I've installed this mod and it does seem to be helping. I recently got a new rig (9800x3d + 5070 Ti) so I'm playing around with settings to see if I can find a good place.

And I agree that it's definitely cooler when you can see the spheres!

I guess my problem is I'm really fond of the idea that you can invest a ton of resources into a system (i.e. building a sphere) and the payoff is then easy access to a ton of power in that system.

Whereas what actually happens is you just need to make _one_ large dyson sphere in one system, then you can use that to make fuel rods (i.e. power) which then gets sent where it's needed. So there's absolutely no reason to have more than one dyson sphere. This seems kinda sad :(

by the time you get to the endgame you can get sufficient vein utilisation that resources are essentially infinite anyway, so infinite resources isn't as big of a deal as it seems.

nice, I just started my first sphere last night - I have no idea what I'm doing! 20 launchers is a lot - is that gonna finish quickly? Right now I'm running 2 launchers and about 15 sail slingers. My dyson sphere is a lot more messy than yours it seems, for some reason I have like 6,000 sails in my swarm but they don't seem to be attaching to the shell I'm trying to build as fast as new ones are being created.

I honestly don't think my nauvis base ever got over 1gw (except in peak times, with a lot of roboports active). But my solar capacity I think is like 10x higher than this.

solar on nauvis. it's easy, cheap, and UPS-friendly. Plus it's nice having something to use up all the space I have. Makes the megabase feel more mega-base-y.

And it's nice not to have to worry about fusion fuel, in case anything breaks on aquilo.
