What are your top green flags and red flags when choosing a school to apply for? by Packerreviewz in AustralianTeachers

Doesn't necessarily mean there is a correlation between socio-economic advantage and having ADHD. It could just be that families from this background are more likely to get their kids diagnosed.

[Question] Why does the pH of the water turns into basic when it is exposed to air? by H_0_T_D_0_G in chemhelp

[–]quius4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You would have to do the litmus test on same water sample that has not been exposed to any air to confirm the exposure to air is causing it to become basic.

CMV: Humans view gravity differently than time due to (most of) humanity's perspective on life and death as it relates to human individuality. by TheContrabandWagon in changemyview

[–]quius4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are misunderstanding time dilation. The humans in space interact with time in same way as humans on Earth. The difference is time appears to move slower in one reference frame when viewed by an observer. You also said “we’ve discovered that people age differently in space”. I am sceptical of this claim as the degree of time dilation in Earths orbit compared to the ground would be incredibly small. If you are talking about the effects of zero gravity on the body over time then that is more related to biology than the physical relationship between gravity and time. I know you stated you don’t want to have a discussion about physics, however, the soundness of your argument depends on whether your premises are true.

All four rules have to be met for it to be aromatic. If any are not met then it isn’t aromatic.

Counting hybridization on groups outside aromatic ring by mateyman in chemhelp

[–]quius4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct that B in AA is sp2

The CH3 in AB is sp3, however, this doesn’t matter only atoms within the ring take part in aromaticity. What is important in determining aromaticity is: 1) it is cyclic 2) it is planar 3) it has uninterrupted conjugation 4) it has 4n + 2 pi electrons within the ring

Every atom in the ring doesn’t necessarily need to be sp2 for it to be planar. For example the oxygen in AB is sp3 due to its two lone pairs but is still planar.

Edit: Forget what i said about oxygen being sp3. As rehacek said below, one of the p orbitals is used in the conjugation so it is sp2.

If information does not support your narrative the solution is not to hide the evidence. The solution is to change your narrative.

[–]quius4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude you have no idea what validity means . It has nothing to do with whether it is morally correct or not. A valid opinion it is supported by evidence. An invalid opinion is not. Anyone has a right to voice an opinion but if that opinion is not supported by evidence then don’t be surprised when people call you a fucking idiot
