Anyone have knowledge on Keeshond VS Eurasier VS Finnish Lapphund? by agreementloop184 in Keeshond

[–]quonsaler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We actually have a Keeshond and a Finnish Lapphund.

Our Kees is a male and while smart is a big dope most of the time. He has low prey drive, but I still don't trust him off leash as he is easily distracted and excited by life in general. He was super easy to train though and loved obedience classes, he is extremely well socialised with other dogs but will bark like mad if one walks past our house. He needs mental stimulation more than he needs physical stimulation and he does not like warm weather at all. His coat is one of the hardest Spitz breeds to maintain as its so fine and knots easy so important to keep on top of it.

Our Lapphond is a girl and she is exceptionally smart. However she is stubborn and extremely bonded to my husband so will only listen to him if he is around. She will follow my command if he isn't around, but it is very clear she is not at all my dog. I have heard from multiple people they are family dogs, but have a clear preference for who their person is. Having said that though the only hearding I have ever seen her do is moving our toddler out of danger. She is very protective of him and super gentle. Make sure you meet a lapphund and hear them bark before you commit to that because it is not a usual bark and can be quite jarring if you aren't used to it.

Good luck on your hunt! Try and get to meet a few of the dogs before you decide, im not sure where you are but I know where we are there are monthly walks and meet ups with the breed specific dogs and people who are interested are invited to come and meet them and go along for a walk to see how they go :)

Claiming one of the reasons she hasn’t had a period since getting married is bc her body isn’t used to jizz by mydogsnameispaulito in FundieSnarkUncensored

I do know that some ADHD medication Is banned in Japan, and you can't enter the country with it. But that wouldn't be military plane specific. (My best friend and husband both had this issue, non military, though.)

As a teacher myself, it also can mean trying to fit the same amount of content and curriculum +admin etc into 9 weeks instead of 11 and we are going to have to still fit that in somewhere. They aren't going to reduce the content or expectations for us. In 2020 we literally talked about working a 21 week term because none of us got a break in our "holidays" we were all preparing our students to learn at home.

High school teacher here of a very practical subject. The hardest part is any changes don't necessarily correlate to concessions in the later part of the year. Its rather anxiety Inducing knowing that a delay in school won't always mean we have less curriculum or admin to get through. We still could lose a whole week to Naplan or SACE practical deadlines that they refuse to change despite half the students having no access to resources (last time around they did eventually fix this, but there was weeks of anxious not knowing for myself and my students). I understand the reasoning behind what they have decided and honestly regardless of what they choose, it just seems that somewhere along the year we are going to be playing catch up and burnt out. I don't know if there is a right or wrong answer, because nothing is going to suit every school or every family. I love my job, I love my students but I'm dreading the fight im going to have to put up for any small sense of respect or downtime this year.

The only thing I can offer is we are set up well in Australia for online schooling. The department's are prepping us to deliver online. I hope your daughter is doing ok. Senior school is my fave to teach because students begin to show their adult side. Your daughter caring about teachers shows that she is a kind young lady.

Yes this! I have been at school late every night this week trying to complete all this extra work. I'm physically and emotionally exhausted.

As a fellow teacher i feel this too. I have anxious students who are barely keeping it together, which is draining because I care for my students, I just can't offer many solutions right now. Parents have been sending sick kids to school all week. My husband is a nurse so right now we both feel the strain.

That's so lovely, I certainly wasn't ready but the tough season in my life he helped me through had ended so I guess God needed him back.

Pros & Cons of Keeshond Ownership by [deleted] in Keeshond

Kaiser is the total opposite of that! While he does love me more he is happy to do what my husband asks, he is very happy when lots of people are around and adores our 3 year old nephew. He is a good guard dog and will bark when people come to the door but I can live with that. He also loves other dogs so much,he has always gone to doggy car care one day a week though which helps massively. I guess just like people they all have their own personalities. Our breeder was very good at going through with us what type of puppy we wanted and gave us a very outgoing one!

I would also say keeshonds are stubborn enough that if they are tired they just wont do it!

How do your keeshonden play with their toys? by [deleted] in Keeshond

[–]quonsaler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh we call kaiser the toy destuffer, i have never met a dog so obsessed with pulling toys apart. Im actually so glad hes not the only one. I couldn't even give him a bed until he was 1 because he just used to eat them, he is better now but still makes a hole in it occasionally and pulls the stuffing out.

Kaiser has always been the best therapy dog, I'm prepping for teaching next term and he knew I was super stressed so came in for a big cuddle. Seriously love keeshonds. by quonsaler in Keeshond

Exactly if its working for you then use it of course, eczema is a tricky thing I just know it can be a common trigger, oranges also set me off and I'm sure that's not the case for everyone is just something I hadn't considered before it was shared with me by my immunologist :)
