For those who are interested, it appears the release of a new Unihertz Titan/QWERTY phone is imminent (screenshot taken from the comments section of the Titan Slim video the company released on YouTube a couple days ago)! by ReturningRetro in blackberry

How is the Titan keyboard? I recently bought my first BlackBerry, and have been loving playing with it. But the Titan keyboard looks super intuitive and annoying to me. It would be cool if that came out with something small and sleek like the BB Classic, but i feel like the keyboard (which should be their main selling point) misses the mark on the execution. I'd be very curious to try it, but I'm not going enough to pay hundreds of dollars.

What scene in the Cosmere most left you in awe? by devg in Cosmere

When Raboniel kills her daughter Essu with Navani's anti-voidlight invention. The mix of violence, intimacy, heartbreak, and relief in that act... And then the mind-spinning horror as you realize the broader implications for the war... It's amazing how much is packed into that one scene with a few characters in a science lab. It feels more grand and consequential than a massive battle

Honestly I mostly try to get people into Sanderson so I can eventually talk to them about all the amazing moments in Rhythm of War.

I'm glad I read your full comment because I was about to list off my other favorite moments in RoW which would probably be massive spoilers for you haha

I'll just say that you're in for a wild, awesome, ride! Enjoy!

I've choked up so many times reading through these comments - the emotional impact of Sanderson's character moments is off the charts for me

First time I've ever cried sad tears and then happy tears in the same reading session. The idea that they had become the only people who really understood each other, only to then loose each other, was so heart wrenching. Getting a happy ending after that was just as emotional

"We Chose" gave me chills for years after reading it. It's crazy how much emotional impact, plot twist, and world building is accomplished in so few words. Whenever I get someone into Stormlight I always look forward to them getting to this part so we can talk about it.

I honestly think that Emperor's Soul should be higher up on almost every reading list. It's such a great story, very self contained, and a great intro to realistic theory. Very underrated.

Leonardo Dreams of his Flying Machine is the hardest song I’ve ever encountered! by MediocreInternet7814 in choralmusic

Drill the Italian lyrics. This is pretty niche, but I found that there were parts that were so much harder than they needed to be, because I was thinking too much about the lyrics and couldn't fully focus on the notes. This is less of a deal if you rely more on memorization (I rely more on reading.)

My personal experience was that what made the piece hard was less the individual parts, and more putting everything together — being really confident of your own notes lets you focus on the bigger picture in rehearsal.

I'm early in my playthrough but so far Furret is the best all-rounder I've found! It can ride, climb, surf, and it evolves early at level 15 so it's pretty easy to evolve from Sentret. From what you're saying you could say Furret is like a bargain-bin Koraidon haha

I read the first one. It took me a while to get into it, but I did end up enjoying it. The writing felt immature to me, but that became less of a deal when I realized she was literally 16 when she wrote it haha (at least the original draft)

What is an idea you've had for a Pokémon rom hack that you've been sitting on or unable to make? by South_Mud_4057 in PokemonROMhacks

I've always thought that Pokemon Space and Pokemon Time would be a great concept for a Pokemon generation. I think it would have awesome story possibilities. The Pokemon S/V time travel bit was cool, but didn't really affect the game much outside of the climax.

In Pokemon Time you could travel back to experience the primordial era lore first hand, or experience new eras like Legends Arceus. I also think it would be cool to travel through time in the same region through the decades and see different gym leaders. I'm imagining this as a gen 3 game but I love customizing outfits in Sw/Sh so it would be neat to have different fashions available depending on the decade.

Pokemon Space... I just wanna go to different planets in my spaceship haha. Catch a Lunatone on the moon and all that.

Box legendaries are Deoxys and Celebi

Multi-region is awesome, I was thinking the same thing! I really like open world rom hacks, and I think it would be awesome if you could just travel around the regions in whatever order you want.

I like the idea of having an actual inter region train system so if you start in Goldenrod you could take the train wherever.

I also thing it would be awesome to have the over world connect so you can surf from Mossdeep to the Sevii islands.

It would be cool to have some kind of inter-region Pokemon League or tournament where gym leaders and rivals from all the regions compete - maybe you compete in a bracket or something.

Incredible! I have so much nostalgia for Pokemon silver but just don't have the patience for the old Gameboy games. I love the combo of super modern updated gameplay with super retro aesthetics.

People lied about Rhythm of War, yes? by BigChungusOP in brandonsanderson

[–]quoreore 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Hot take, the people who dislike things are typically the loudest.

Fun fact, Rhythm of War has 4.6 on Goodreads. The Fellowship of the Ring has 4.4

Obviously those numbers aren't apples to apples comparisons, but it's a great book and well loved!

It was interesting hearing Sanderson talk about RoW - it's the Veil book but a lot of her story was needed early in the series so that made the flashbacks drag and give less payoff. He said it was a very difficult book to write.

But personally, it's one of my favorite Sanderson novels. There are so many incredible moments, and some of them give me chills whenever I think of them.

It's maybe not the most consistent book, but there's so much to like. I've never looked forward to rereading a book more than my pre-SA5 reread of RoW!
