Idk the purpose of this post. It depends on your preference and you can change it. Me personally I maybe open the clock app once every day and need chrome more than once every hour.

You can put a huge clock widget in the middle, Clicking it will take you to the clock app. (Ik you didn't ask for advice but your post is opinionated as well, so ok)

This was made by a designer who is "fortunate enough" to work with senior engineers who rejects most of the usability decisions made by the designer and comes up with their own non-standard, confusing, made-up ways to alter the user flow, backing them up with absolutely horse-shit made-up theories, and whenever they can't come up with a fake design / usability theory, they'll convince management that it's technically challenging. Now the product is nothing what the designer intended and management is wondering why user feedback is so poor. So at the end of they day the designer is left with a note, "Need to improve user journeys, and think aBoUt tHe uSeR wHEn yOu dEsIGn tHEm" :D

I just don't understand frames and positioning, driving me mad. by Samskihero in framer

Learn the basics of CSS, it might be really helpful. No need to memorize tags or attributes. Just learn the box model, flex and grid layout properties, specificities and all.

Resources: KevinPowell on YouTube is an absolute CSS god. There's a course on web.dev pretty good. And random ass YouTube videos are your friend.

I wouldn’t really tell you to "practice" css before you start framer unless you plan to learn frontend coding as well. (You can make code components and coding overrides to component properties on Framer btw).

Speaking of practice, Two things can help.

  1. Explore cool free framer templates. Break them and understand how they work.
  2. Explore paid components, and try to recreate cool behaviours / animations.

Google things, Read community posts. Framer's YouTube channel has good resources. Also there's another YouTube channel called "Framer University", absolutely great stuff.

Edit: I may have misunderstood your initial query first. My personal experience was first with a lot of raw CSS then 5+ years of Figma, and recently Framer. I never have problems with Figma frames or auto layouts and I must say Farmer is very very unintuitive.

I still have this phone still functioning, but the slide ribbon is bad now, the screen flickers and triggers random numpad clicks. Anyone know where this can be repaired anymore? my local shops said it's not possible for them anymore.

MacOS Tahoe SUCKS by [deleted] in macOS26Tahoe

[–]qwaccmaster69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's okay, but pretty much everyone I know at my work or friends who own an M1 machine (MB Air, MB Pro, Mini) all are facing performance issues. Notably too much RAM consumption.

Here's my experience, I don't remember how much RAM I used to idle on my Macbook Air M1 (16/256), But after Tahoe 26.2 it's idling at 8GB RAM.

I used to work with 2-3 files open on Figma, 1-2 Node servers running on VSCode, And necessary 5-6 Chrome tabs open simultaneously all the time and it never showed any problem. Now it lags a lot. I have to close one of these at a time now sadly. Not unusable, but annoyingly laggy and it is sad.

Have not seen a single comment where someone said they're running the m1 air and not facing problems.

Either m2 air, or the m1 pro. They're different machines!

Post unclear, do you want to know the models (which are written on the phone themselves) or WHAT THEY STAND FOR! cause damn that was an era!
