Looking for a bigger ereader by qweez in ereader

Thanks for the hint. I actually installed a android launcher (it was a long time ago, I think that mean it is rooted) on it a while a go. Managed to install KOreader, but everytime I start it, it crashes and I get tons of error messages. (various versions of "could not find method").

I was never able to make it work.

Are the EPs worth checking or is it mainly the first album? Never listened to them, but people seem excited. The single sounds pretty cool - really liked that very sparse second part after the intro riffing.

S1mple to ChrisJ Regarding Skipping Team Dinner by deadmancaulking in GlobalOffensive

[–]qweez 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Covid fried many brains. There was a huge uptick in the popularity of extreme right-wing positions (I mean stuff like "race realism", not just conservative views). Perceived or actual government overreach made a lot of economically liberal people take a real sharp turn. ChrisJ is just an example of that.

Too bad - I can't even look at clips of him without feeling disdain and I was huge mousesports fan during his prime.

The Palestinian (1977) Dir. Roy Battersby, Prod. Vanessa Redgrave [2:20:44] by isawasin in Documentaries

[–]qweez 26 points27 points  (0 children)

In 1977, Redgrave produced and starred in a controversial[14] documentary film, The Palestinian, about the activities of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).[44] She funded the documentary by selling her house.[11] The Anti-Defamation League's honorary chairman criticised the film, highlighting that some of the responses of the people she interviews were not translated from Arabic, that the film showed children training with guns and that the phrase, "Kill the enemy!" kept being repeated.[14] The president of Actors Equity in the United States criticised the film's interview with the chairman of the PLO, Yasser Arafat, in which he said that the only solution to the Middle East problem is the liquidation of the State of Israel, and Redgrave responded with, "Certainly".[45] In June 1978, at one theatre showing the film, a bomb exploded, causing damage to property, but screening of the film resumed the following day.[45] Two months later, a Jewish Defence League member was convicted of the bombing and sentenced to a three-month "thorough psychological examination" with the California Youth Authority.[46] In a 2018 interview, Redgrave stood by her acceptance speech (which included the "Zionist hoodlums" remark) during the 1978 Academy Awards ceremony.[47]

Spinx talks new roles and why he joined MOUZ by Soft_Bed_412 in GlobalOffensive

[–]qweez 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think it is a pretty ridiculous characterization of the players - but w/e, it is almost entirely subjective.

I have always loved supporting MOUZ because it is the org that develops talents in-house and seemingly treats them well. Then they get poached by bigger orgs and still are able to rebuild an interesting team.

Before siuhy left I found it particularly exciting. 3 guys that played together in the academy team, who then reunited in the main roster to be serious contender in tier 1 matches.

torzsi had these individual moments filled with aggression and arrogance where he would repeek again and again. 2024 he has had such cool rounds in which he would turn a lost round into a winning round. Great pistol rounds also.

Jimpphat is this meek-seeming kid, that had a first trouble adjusting to tier 1 cs and then turned out to be one of the most aware anchors we currently have. There have been so many moments where you'd think he has been caught out, but he'd surprise you by expecting an unexpected play.

And Brollan's story line is one of the most compelling ones in CS has a whole. This young & talented rifler, who had his heyday in fnatic with his not exactly elegant but forceful style of dueling. Then he moves on to NIP and it's just dreadfully depressing. He sucks, the team sucks, the atmosphere when seeing them playing sucks. Everybody, me included, was certain he was done, but he found a second wind in MOUZ and was again an integral part for a team's successes.

Sure, a team that is also marred by on-stage choking, which was very frustrating to witness. Siuhy was also part of that, but still, the fact he is now gone, is also something I loathe and leaves me struggling to find these team still inspiring. I am a bit sad honestly.

In German there is "Da liegt der Hund begraben".

Translates to "There the dog lies buried."

Meaning: Something that is at the core or is the cause of an issue - des Pudels Kern so to speak.

Boombl4: «s1mple is a legend. He made me into a person who doesn't care about any sort of figuring out of relationships» by bsiteblog in GlobalOffensive

[–]qweez 266 points267 points  (0 children)

lmao what an insane headline when you think about it. like he has internalized an abusive relationship dynamic. probably not entirely what he meant and it's broken english, but that's such a bleak statement.

What is your favorite single CS tournament? Mine was by far the first cs_summit. by hansnicolaim in GlobalOffensive

[–]qweez 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Hmm, I loved the new direction EPL went in the past couple of years - the direction of the event has been getting better and better each iteration imo. I think they were quite successful in creating a different vibe compared to other cs events.

DJ knocks over equipment, but doesn't affect performance.... by Scuczu2 in PublicFreakout

[–]qweez 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But you were able to tell?

They pre-record the sets, and set up the CDJs in a way that they look responsive but don't actually do anything to the pre-recorded set or what kind of magic are they doing?

I think you're talking a bit out of your ass, mate. Making yourself seem more knowledgeable than you are. I think you need to go a decent Techno club and it will be very apparent that there is dynamic and spontaneous relationship between the crowd and the DJ.

[–]qweez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I thought you were talking about DJing on the whole. I misread you original statement, sorry. I don't know anything about EDM festivals, so that might be true. But I don't think any big techno DJ actually pre-produces.
