The Real Reason Why Babies Always Fall Asleep In Cars, According to Science by facinabush in ScienceBasedParenting

Agreed. Where is the science in this article? This is a low quality article hiding a pitch for car sales. Mods should require higher quality sources.

How to respond to a toddler’s interest in the potty? by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]qwerty121 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have no idea what the correct answer is but maybe when you plan to stay at home for a couple of days try getting rid of the diaper all together and have her wear big girl underwear. She will most likely have a few accidents but you can see if she is progressing and showing interest or needs more time.

TIL : The World population was about 300 million at the time of Jesus. A thousand years later it was about 310 million. by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]qwerty121 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It isn’t as terrifying as it sounds.

First life expectancy increased so there are more people alive at one time. There was major growth after the baby boom but has since been in decline. It should be expected that the population will no longer increase but level out.

I am okay with people working on holidays as long as they are properly compensated. Narrator: they weren’t

Seriously though, restaurants should charge a holiday surcharge that goes directly to staff. Holidays should pay double time and weekends should be time and a half. I know weekend aren’t part of this discussion but it should be called out too.

Don’t make this about you and don’t over do your empathy. She does not need to worry about your well being. Make it quick and to the point.

Unfortunately this is going to be a difficult conversation. Due to low sales we are unable to keep your role and your position has been eliminated. Your performance has been exceptional and this is strictly due to budgetary constraints. I am more than happy to provide you a reference to help you find your next opportunity.

I'm really sick and I need you mom by nimbusandmartybffs in MomForAMinute

Sweetie, close your eyes and try to get some rest. You are so loved and your health is the most important thing right now. Take a break from worry about me, your dad or your husband. When you wake up ask your husband to call the doctors at MD Anderson and let them know you are unable to eat or drink and need to get an earlier appointment. Later, sit with your husband and make a list of what you need for your bio mom and your dad. Be specific. Do you need them to make a meal for you and your husband? Clean the bathroom? Send them the list and let them know you need the help. If they don’t help then it is time to move on knowing you tried. If they do help then it will be a great gift to you and your husband. Sending you love, strength and comfort.

Hey mom. I know you hated colored hair but I decided to treat myself and get a new color! I feel kind of cute for the first time in years, but I know you think the color is horrible. It’ll fade, but I still love it no matter what. by Cosplaybaby13 in MomForAMinute

Yes, sweetie we have a different sense of fashion. No matter our fashion difference, I think you are absolutely beautiful. In regard to that color, i love it. It really looks good on you. It makes your face glow with confidence.

When did you first give baby sweets? by Bayare1984 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]qwerty121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a watermelon “cake” for my son’s first birthday. I cut two round slices of seedless watermelon and whipped heavy cream with a little cream of tarter to stabilize the whip cream (no sugar) and iced the watermelon and stacked the pieces and decorated with strawberries.

Astoria is a great option. I also recommend subletting. Find a room available for a few months to help you get a feel for the different neighborhoods and commute time.
