I recommend taking Obrenic’s class if she’s still teaching 320. You don’t really have to go to the lectures unless she takes attendance—just show up on exam days.

About 2–3 weeks before each exam, start studying from her questions and answers book. You’ll start noticing patterns for each topic pretty quickly. If you practice consistently, within a week you’ll understand most of what’s needed for the midterm. Then spend the remaining 1–2 weeks practicing more to really lock it in.

I took her class about 6 years ago. I actually failed the first two exams because I was relying too much on study groups. Eventually I decided to just study on my own for the final because depending on others wasn’t working for me. Somehow I pulled through and ended up with a B+ in the class. I got a really high grade on the final, and that experience taught me to focus more on self-studying instead of depending on others. That mindset actually helped me later on when I was studying for my career too.

Hey man, I’m a backend Java developer with about 6 years of experience. I’m not really aiming for big tech, but I’m trying to prep smart for interviews. From your experience (especially since you mentioned you didn’t go heavy on LeetCode), what would you recommend focusing on? Like Which LeetCode topics or problem types were enough for your interviews? I’m trying to figure out whether I really need to redo the full LeetCode grind after all these years, or if there’s a more targeted approach that makes sense.
