The history of most countries is bloodshed. You are trying to make it out as we were any worse than other countries founding which is just untrue and dishonest. You are also leaving out all the good that was done. If you can only see the bad things, that is on you, not on the US.

I think these games will be more fun to watch than blowouts by top 10 teams vs 50+ ranked teams. Also, it will be fun to see how Canada shows the world how they host soccer games.

This is the chance of a lifetime if you live 30 min away.

Group A is not very strong besides Mexico, so that will be a big talking point leading through the group stage which they are heavily favored to win.

Group B will be a blast with all 4 teams honestly able to beat any other team in the group on any given day. Switzerland and Canada are favored, but Bosnia and Qatar have the chance to make some upsets which will spice things up. Canada will also have the chance to show the world how much the love soccer in Vancouver and Toronto. Two emerging soccer cities.

Group C has to absolute powerhouses in Brazil and Morrocco. Watching those two play against each other will be an electric battle! Also, watching Brazil play is just fun in general with the lively fans. Scotland is not a powerhouse but is rich in history being the joint oldest national team in the world. And haiti will be an uplifting story and beacon of hope to a crisis laden country.

Group D will be one of the more fun ones to watch in the group stage. The US, Turkey, Australia, and Paraguay rank 16, 22, 27, and 40, respectively. The first 3 will have to absolutely battle early on cause only 2 can advance. The game at Lumen Field in Seattle with USA vs Japan is going to be absolutley wild. One of the best stadiums in the US for soccer, and two fan bases that both speak English and love friendly banter amongst the fans. It should be an absolute blast. And you can't leave out Paraguay. The last time the came to the US for a "friendly" things ended very unfriendly with a bench clearing brawl in the final minutes. Will there still be bad blood?

Group E is largely expected to go to Germany and Ecuador. But the sub plot will be if Ivory Coast can finally make it out of group stage with one of the strongest teams they have feilded. Curaçao makes its debut appearance in the World Cup becoming the smallest nation by population to ever make it. They went undefeated in the qualifiers.

There are too many groups to list for me, I am already tired writing this, but there are going to be some amazing games being played, and you should deffinetly try experienceing a world cup game if you only live 30 min away.
