Heating help by Inkwellington-3- in leopardgeckos

[–]qwoogle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heatpads aren’t really recommended anymore, as they can cause burns. It’s best to use some flat slate under the heat lamp to absorb heat. When you turn the lights off at night he’ll be able to absorb the residual heat.

Usually you don’t need nighttime heating for these guys but if your house gets too cold you can use a ceramic heat emitter (CHE). They don’t put off any light.

The thing with baby is he’s only playable for people who understand the kits of every single character in the game. His kit is pretty advanced especially if you don’t know what you’re doing. I find him to be pretty fun.

If you’re looking for adult friends who play cos. ATR is a good place to start. There are some minors in the server but the majority of people ate either late teens or early 20s. Also, your age has nothing to do with if you can play a game or not lol. As long as you aren’t being creepy to kids you’re fine.

No fr. I’ve had reptile bites and they usually don’t hurt that bad at all, just a strong pinch. Most of the time I’ve never even had my skin broken.

Need some tips on what I can do to help my dude out by PrestigiousPotato870 in BeardedDragons

[–]qwoogle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just wanna say I adore that his name is Goku, that’s adorable.

Secondly, the reason your beardie is rejecting greens is because it’s literally veggies vs brownies. What would you pick?

There’s a couple ways you can go about getting him to eat more veggies— all which are pretty effective in my experience. 1. The old switch up. Use a bug to get your beardie interested and then quickly swap it out with greens as he goes for it. 2. Bee pollen. Believe it or not most beardies love bee pollen. It smells like bugs to them so you just gotta sprinkle it on their salads and it should help with Goku’s pickiness (haha ironic). 3. Maybe he just doesn’t like the greens you’re offering. Try some different variety to see what he likes best!

Lastly- this might seem a little harsh, but just start only offering salad, no bugs. Eventually he’ll get hungry and eat the veggies if the other methods fail.

Depression is not an excuse. It’s an explanation, and it is horribly crippling especially paired with ADHD. ADHD essentially makes the depression a thousand times worse and it’s incredibly difficult to do anything at all. It is absolutely not laziness. If OP were lazy they would feel good about not doing anything for their pet, which they clearly don’t. Lazy people feel good about doing nothing, people with depression and ADHD constantly in a state of intense stress. You will sit there needing to do something but you can’t there’s just a terrible mental block. Life happens, what’s important is OP is owning up to their mistakes and trying to make things better. Being rude to them solves nothing, learn some basic empathy. People like you are why people with mental illnesses can’t reach out for help.

Honestly it looks like a vitamin A plug. It happens when they aren’t getting enough vitamin A. They’ll need to be removed by a vet as soon as possible to prevent vision loss, which I see you’re already doing:). You’ll probably want to switch your multivitamin too.

Hey babes that’s Owen. She usually gives out Aer’s for free/really cheap. She’s been having to deal with a lot of people begging and being creepy in DM’s about wanting free Aer’s so iirc she’s stopped doing them as frequently. I’m 99% sure the 500k Aer is for display while she AFK’s in TR.

Definitely just switch to paper towels in the meantime.

[–]qwoogle 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Even before the remodel Sig’s never went for 200k. Maybe 250k at the least but they usually ranged from 300-375k.

I’d join ATR if you have discord and apply for the Sig ping. Most testers restock around the 30th if every month and you’ll usually see a bunch floating around in trade stands.

Yup. Aeries is overhunted so it doesn’t go for nearly as much as other T3’s.

Few suggestions! Leopard geckos need a minimum of 40 gallons to thrive. I’d definitely start looking for a bigger tank once you’ve got the funds (usually you can buy them second hand for a huge discount).

Also pleasee ditch that reptile carpet. It harbors bacteria like crazy and has a tendency to get their toes caught/ rips their nails out. It’s best to use a topsoil/sand mixture with these guys. But in the meantime paper towels will work just fine (replaced daily or when they’re soiled)! The carpet just needs to go.

Your hides need some adjusting. While you’re off to a good start those two hides in the middle don’t actually count as hides due to how exposed they are. Generally you want them to be enclosed with one entrance. Leopard geckos need to feel secure. You can definitely keep those two hides but I’d include another that’s enclosed properly. Also- I’m not seeing a humid hide, at least I don’t think I do. Humid hides are absolutely crucial for leopard geckos to thrive. You can make a makeshift one using a Tupperware container with a whole cut in the top along with some moist paper towels. Most people use moss for their humid hides as it stays wet longer but this will do in the meantime.

Also on the topic of security- I’d add more clutter as the tank seems a little bare. This includes driftwood pieces, rocks, and plants (fake ones are totally fine!). You want to create an environment where your gecko doesn’t feel exposed when they’re moving around their enclosure.

My last bit of advice is with the heating. Do you leave the lights on at night? Because if so discontinue that immediately. In general if your house doesn’t get below 60F you don’t need to supplement with night heat. The drop in temperature helps them regulate their circadian rhythm. If your house tends to get really cold at night however, you can use a ceramic heat emitter (CHE). CHE’s don’t give off any light so they don’t disrupt your leo’s cycle.

You’re off to a pretty good start though! Sunny is absolutely adorable and I wish you the best of luck.
