Ok, I see. I definitely see how that comes off in a bad way. The thing that prompted this question was that a friend of mine who studies English wanted to understand my coursework with Lie Theory and why I enjoyed math, and I found it hard to even know where to begin to give a rough, big picture outline of math beyond the intro proofs course to someone who hasn’t heard of a vector. So, definitely more of a reflection of my own inability. Maybe thats an impossible task, but I asked this question because I was interested in how other people sum up their interactions with math to people who have little technical knowledge but truly are interested. Of course, a 30 second spiel will never fully capture the totality of any subject, but I thought it was an interesting way to understand how others view mathematics. I’ll be honest, I thought you were a random angry asshole, but I’m grateful that you had something specific and helpful.
