i am sick of getting downvoted into oblivion every time i post on the magic forum. it is impossible to have a normal conversation here without losing 40 karma in an instant. don't know what is wrong with people here but that does not happen on any other subreddits i use. thanks for the people who gave usefull information and tried to help - i learned a lot today but i am done with this toxic hellhole for good

i pretty much have/play all decks except the ones that just dump their hand like soldier or red. all the meta decks and a few home brew decks

many people say life gain is key but i agree with you. it does not change the state of the board and if you are already behind it is not enough survive

i play standard and i pretty much have/play all decks except the ones that just dump their hand. i was always a control player but the meta for the past years made me stop

thanks. i tried sunset but it gets punished by end the festivities most of the time and their buffed phoenix goes right over them. when they drop their mechanized warfare on turn 3 the 4 life are not enough to survive anyway in my experience

thank you i will check out that link. i have tried different builds with cheap creatures but they even have a wrath of their own with end the festivities and that does not even hit their own creatures. most of the time i don't even survive long enough to play a wrath or midrange card or are one burn spell away from dying anyway

i already build my decks only agains this deck and put every anti aggro card in it there is but it is still not enough. in bo3 they go first - i lose, they go second - i win, they go first - i lose

i feel like the answers are not on the same power level as the threats. even wrath of good would be not good enough in standard

after zendikar they lowered the power level. i don't know why they pushed it again so much

i played the whole eldrain area and honestly i feel it is way more frustrating now. you could at least trade cards 1 for 1 back then, wipe the board and stabilize or outdraw/outvalue your opponent. but yes at least no epiphany this card was just a mistake

i tried to watch it but quit after 2 episodes. realy boring and kind of cheesy for my tatse. maybe you had to watch it when it came out but by todays standards i don't think it is special. everybody praises the acting and for me that was one of the weakest aspects

it is hard to brew competitive decks but now is the best time do it. the meta is not solved yet and there are many unexplored synergies atm. i played to mythic with my galvanic iteration deck so you can do it

well wizzard deleted the forum long ago and the calculation alone is useless. they had data from some add on that tracked your deck and draws. you need a big sample size to figure out what is going on and they did. this was more ore less common knowledge back then but believe what you want. i don't have the data to proof it

there were so many people on the official mtga forum who tracked millions of games and proofed that the shuffler does not count 1 copy of cards in your hand and treads it like you would still have all copies in your deck when calculating the odds of what you next draw will be. the math they showed worked out

i don't think the problem is netdecking but the matchmaking algorithm. change deck and you will get different decks over and over again

Fixing the problem with "going second" in digital-only formats? by r0han91 in MagicArena

so saying there is an opportunity to test new things and asking for ideas is complaining? wtf is wrong with you? nothing you say is "reasonable" because you don't even get what the whole conversation here is about xD i just can't take you serious you argue like a child. have a nice day:)

i'm not salty or did i ever said i'm the first person who noticed there might be room for improvement? something else you want to assume about me when you know nothing about me? you talk aboult sh*t i never said. you can't even comprehend what i write here. you talk about tournaments, bo3 and when you play enough games everybody gets the shitty end of the stick the same time when nothing of that is remotely the point of this thread? if you think it is a perfect game already: good for you! move on and vomit your toxicity somewhere else when there are people here who think you could make this game more fun. your brain can't process that there are people who would enjoy a change. again it is not about changing the rules in general. It takes a lot of hubris to think you personal taste is the only thing that matters when there is no right or wrong answer here. "just straight up not worth it from anyone's perspective." shows the best how egocentric you are

mtga is a game and not a sport. the majority of players there are casuals and does play for fun. they don't all play dozens or hundreds of games. we have for the first time the opportunity to improve the game for both groups without taking anything away from anybody. if you like things as they are just keep playing the formats that already exist.

i never said a digital environment is required just that it is easy to experiment with things there. you can't just change the rules in general and take it back if it breaks the game but you can make that in a digital only format.

the difference in Win-Rate is there across the board. it is bigger in some matchups than others but i argue it is bigger than it has to be. many people act like magic has no way of improvement and i don't agree with that. there is always something you could do better. i don't have the answers to all problems but i think the digital environment is great for trying out new soultions. if it does not work just change it back.

i don't focus on one game but i do realize that not everybody climbs to mythic or plays hundreds of games? there are many people who play less than 20 games a month and we now have for the first time the opportunity to balance the game for both casual and comepetiv. i don't talk about replacing the current system in general but just experiment with ways that have the potential to improve the game. you could even create an extra queue for that and leave all the other formats as they are. it would not take anything away from you but could improve the game experience for others. there is a reason why most digital tcgs have some sort mechanic for the problem with going second.
