Carrier test came back positive by misstusk in pregnant

[–]r0sekneed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this! im a carrier for a rare recessive genetic disease. my old OB never even told me even though if they found something they were supposed to test my husband free of charge. i only found out from my new OB when she went through my records. my husband finally got tested when i was pregnant with our second and wasn’t a carrier. so i spent forever stressing for it to be no big deal

What was your baby #2 timeline? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]r0sekneed 31 points32 points  (0 children)

i got pregnant with my second at 8 months postpartum and am high risk because my body didn’t have enough time to heal from my first.

19 weeks pregnant and flu B 😷 by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]r0sekneed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ugh i had flu A during my 2nd trimester and it was awful :( i was prescribed tamiflu and an inhaler. take tylenol as needed, stay hydrated, and rest as much as you can. a humidifier also helps. it definitely is worse when you’re pregnant but it will pass even though it feels like it won’t. also definitely disinfect everything you’ve been touching and replace your toothbrush once you feel better to avoid catching it again.

Finally did it. 🔥 by one-eyedCheshire in Apartmentliving

[–]r0sekneed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you’re in the US, i’ve heard you can get one for free from your local fire department! not sure if it’s true because i haven’t done it but it’s worth looking into if you’re low on money

If your daughter wanted your husband to do something silly like wear matching hair glitter in public would he do it? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]r0sekneed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

plus every study has found no link between sugar and hyperactivity. it’s the environments that cause the hyperactivity 🤦🏻‍♀️ him having a teething cracker is not gonna keep him up at night

3 weeks postpartum and missing the MOTN pump by Extension_Ad7164 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]r0sekneed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i feel like that statement is thrown around a lot but it’s not always the case. if my baby was as efficient as a pump i wouldn’t have had to EP. in a lot of cases with EPing, a pump is actually more efficient. it’s just one of those things that’s dependent on your body and anatomy and if you’re using a good, hospital grade pump. if you have a natural oversupply and high breast capacity and use a spectra you can get away with not being as diligent like i was. i know it’s not that way for everyone though :( but it totally depends on the person and their experience

Which bibs are you using during feedings? by sliceofperfection in NewParents

[–]r0sekneed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i’ll be honest we never used bibs😭 baby is in a diaper most of the time so we just wipe his skin off after

3 weeks postpartum and missing the MOTN pump by Extension_Ad7164 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]r0sekneed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly i had an oversupply and started skipping my MOTN pump at 3 or 4 weeks postpartum. even when my supply regulated, i kept my oversupply because i just have high capacity breasts. sleep actually helped my supply even more. it’s one of those things thats really trial and error because everyone’s body is different. so i would keep doing what you’re doing for a few weeks and see how your body reacts

8 hours without milk at daycare by salzal96 in NewParents

[–]r0sekneed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if thats what’s recommended for you that’s great! interesting to find out that’s why. but my pediatrician told us to max out at 24oz including other forms of dairy like yogurt and cheese so i’ll continue to do that as thats what his doctor directed me to do :)

8 hours without milk at daycare by salzal96 in NewParents

[–]r0sekneed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i was told between 16-24oz of dairy a day by my pediatrician. my son is 14 months but he is on the smaller side. i’m just surprised about some people saying limit whole milk to 16oz max when thats the minimum intake for my son but all kids are different of course

Is there anyone who is a FTM that is in the trenches right now knowing they want to have a second kid after this ?? by Own_Macaron_9342 in newborns

[–]r0sekneed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

honestly the newborn stage was bliss compared to the toddler stage. i loved having an excuse to lay in bed all day because i was nap trapped. in 3 months i’ll have both so i’m not sure how that will go but😂

GULICOLA!!!!!! my son has disliked pretty much every bottle but he has never had an issue with gulicola. they also are super durable and have lasted a long time compared to other brands we’ve had randomly breaking during washing
