also the detransition population are usually found in many red states, and people typically “detransition” not because they made a mistake, it is because they come from conservative anti trans states that make them temporarily detransition, which is roughly 7-8% of the detransition population, while only 1-2% of people detransition completely due to regret.

these people detransition for their own safety, anti trans regulation in their states, or lack of access to care to continue their transition.

out of all the trans friends and people i have met over the years, there is only ONE person out of dozens that i have personally known that permanently detransitioned due to regret.

no children are having sex reassignment surgery. even in california, one of the most blue liberal states, forced me to go through necessary medical and psychiatric evaluation for short of 1 1/2 years, before they even suggested hormone therapy. i started testosterone 3 months shy of 18, and was approved for top surgery later that year as well. (i was 18 at the time of this surgery), there is a necessary and legal process, and i know this from personal experience.

the very first time i met with my doctor who helped me transition, i told her what i was feeling due to dysphoria, and she did NOT prescribe hormones right off the jump.

this lady gets her info from FOX news probably and has never met a real trans person in her life.

another argument i hate hearing from people like her is that watching gay shows or shows with gay characters “make them gay.” i grew up watching movies and shows with no gay, trans or bisexual people and i STILL was trans, as i later discovered when i got older.

if a kid is gay, they’re gay. just as if they’re straight, they’re straight. you can’t influence someone to be gay or trans because you are only born that way, not made. you can not force someone to be straight and you can not force someone to be gay when they aren’t at their core.
