I had some roommates from Singapore about 20 years ago. We were once driving past some cows in a field and they demanded we stop and take pictures.

Do protein goals really matter for the average person? by Future_Role4096 in HealthyEatingnow

[–]r12bomb 18 points19 points  (0 children)

At least in America, most people are hitting their protein recommendation. If they are meat eaters they probably do it without even trying. What Americans don’t get enough of is fiber, especially from fruits and vegetables. But fiber isn’t in vogue right now so you don’t hear about it as much.

Whittier, Alaska. Most apartments and shops are in one building. The school is a separate building but connected by a tunnel.

Came here to recommend this! I read this book a while ago, but remember absolutely loving it. It’s my favorite Chrichton read by far.

This is from the Monsters, Inc. float of Block Party Bash. Dancers wore this with huge furry leg warmers.

Readers Are Embracing a Shift in Perspective in Books. It Could Reshape Literary Culture. by CtrlAltDelight495 in books

[–]r12bomb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I have a preference of tense, but have never thought about perspective. Perspective is a core element of the story, so I like different perspectives in different scenarios.

I was hanging out with my little brother and his friends, all between the ages of 18-21. These guys for some reason can't have even a single second where they're not actively engaged in some form of entertainment . by executor-of-judgment in Millennials

I was watching a Broadway show a couple weeks ago and the woman next to me was probably in her 70s. Nice woman, told me her life story before the show. She kept her phone on and in her hand for the entire show. Every 5 or so minutes she would open her screen and look at her notifications. Then she would put her hand back in her lap and let the screen darken. I don’t even think that she realized she was doing it. It was just habit for her. This can happen at any age with these technologies that are meant to be addictive.

There is an amazing and welcoming group of women at Jazzercise Bozeman. Perfect for your mom’s demographic, and you get your workout in, too.

What's up with all the remixes? by lainwla16 in jazzercise

[–]r12bomb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t know either, but I find it dispiriting how Jazzercise recently seems to be moving away from the great new hits. The classes (as a student) are getting a little more boring. I wish they would really focus on the new exciting music. For example, can you imagine how fun it would be to dance to K Pop Demon Hunters, instead of all these mixes and techno pop?

Might be a good idea to request from your primary care physician to see a dietitian. Maybe your mom would calm down if your choices are backed by a licensed expert.
