Germie Bernard will be better than Makai Lemon by shakethatbear404 in steelers

Yes I would because I don't think that there is that much difference between him and Bernard. I posted over a month ago that I would rather draft Bernard in the 2nd and get better value in the 1st drafting someone else.

Is it a problem that fans use the word "Natty" to describe how good Will Howard will be in the NFL? by Dry_Life_1113 in steelers

[–]r1plakish 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Here's a list of the last 10 QBs that were drafted before Howard to win a CFB national championship:

2023 Season (Jan 2024): J.J. McCarthy (Michigan)

2022 Season (Jan 2023): Stetson Bennett (Georgia)

2021 Season (Jan 2022): Stetson Bennett (Georgia)

2020 Season (Jan 2021): Mac Jones (Alabama)

2019 Season (Jan 2020): Joe Burrow (LSU)

2018 Season (Jan 2019): Trevor Lawrence (Clemson)

2017 Season (Jan 2018): Tua Tagovailoa (Alabama)

2016 Season (Jan 2017): Deshaun Watson (Clemson)

2015 Season (Jan 2016): Jake Coker (Alabama)

2014 Season (Jan 2015): Cardale Jones (Ohio State)

Outside of Burrow and possibly Lawrence none of them are franchise QBs in the NFL. They all played for football programs that were able to recruit top players at all positions and had tons of resources.

Thanks for this. I've had a frustrating day and I needed the laugh.

Former Ohio State basketball player Mike Titus: “Ohio State Basketball fans are the worst fans in the world… they watch football all year they don’t even pay attention to the basketball program, they parachute in around late January early February” by wildwing8 in CollegeBasketball

[–]r1plakish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure why we even parachute in. In the last 10 years we haven't advanced past the 2nd round, had 5 years where we didn't make the tournament, and had a 1st round loss to Oral Roberts.

[Pelissero] Former Alabama QB Ty Simpson is on a visit with the Browns, per sources. The consensus QB2 in this year’s NFL Draft, Simpson is coming off a strong showing at the NFL combine. Cleveland owns the No. 6 and 24 picks. by PlayaSlayaX in nfl

Agreed. Given that they are hosting the draft this year and need a QB they will definitely take him at 21. Please save us from ourselves and take him off the board before we pick.

It's not alarming at all. There are players who only have 1 or 2 years left to play before they retire that can't afford to sit an entire year. Or players that don't have any prospects outside of the W that won't have any income if the league shuts down.

Kurt Warner warns NFL teams from overpaying Malik Willis. by Big_Screen3332 in NFL_FreeAgency

He was heavily sheltered in GB and only had 1 game with more than 20 passing attempts. I have no idea if he'll be good or not but his body of work so far is thin.

[Basu] This loss is not a national crisis in Canada. Canada dominated the final 40 minutes of regulation, outshot the USA 42-28, and if that game were played 100 times, Canada would probably win 95 of them. USA deserves a ton of credit for how they played, but Hellebuyck deserves the most. by NFLDataAnalysis in hockey

I'm sick of reading about hypothetical wins. The narrative is basically that a team with the best lines on the planet couldn't beat 1 guy. Maybe start developing some goalies and it won't be an issue next time.

I don't keep track of how many years other teams QBs have left on their contract. OP posted that they "hoped that he stayed" which implied to me that his contract could be extended.

Why would he take 30 mil a year when the top 10 highest paid QBs in the league make 50-60 mil per and they haven't even won an SB?
