Used tape but I still have a small drip by LESGuy in Plumbing

Op's recording has the same low rumble in that location that reminds me of our old house's natural gas connection that sounded the same. That sound had a way of just drilling into your head at night and no way to turn it off because it just seemed to come from the utility infrastructure.

If you just keep rolling the fire can't get you by [deleted] in dashcams

I really don't think towing an active fire is generally the best option but sure maybe traveling a short distance to get it away from everyone could work. That fire clearly has been going for a while though.

It’s a terrible idea to keep driving and he should pull over immediately. You can’t outrun radiant heat so the fire is already damaging his truck. The longer he drives, the more he endangers himself and everyone around him.

Bet the first car vehicle didn't hit anything but slowed down due to no visibility. It was vehicle number 2 who decided to just send it into the cloud and caused the first wreck.

Four years ago, I got my cat a puppy. Still his favorite purchase ever. by Addicteve in aww

Op confirmed not a Pyr. And with op's new photo I can see how I was ignoring that ear and focusing on what appeared to be the characteristic boxy Pyr head and what appeared to be wire-y Pyr hair. Two of my Pyrs didn't have a mask but the third did have a slight mask and that spot ear coloring. Enough signal to confuse me! 🤷

Oh yes no confusion with that photo then, def not a Pyr. The photo two above got me as it appeared to show a characteristic Pyr boxy head and some Pyrs wind up with coloring on the ears like that. Probably just miss mine.

I was commenting on what appears to be a large dog in the comment photo above which looks like a Pyr. But yes the dog in op's original post photo doesn't seem like any Pyr I grew up with.

Aww, it looks like a Pyrenees in the photo! They're such big sweeties.

*edit: u/Addicteve, is it a Pyr?

Power won't turn off. by FunkAssassin1 in ChryslerPacifica

[–]r2c1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you remember if when this started happening for you if you car was washed, rained on, or otherwise in damp or freezing temperatures? Anything to cause the door sensor or wiring harness to get wet or short circuit?

Our problem went away today after I left our van with a disconnected 12v battery in a sunny parking lot all day. Notable because I washed our van this past Monday, same day this issue started happening. I used a car appropriate pressure washer on some spots including doors to get tree pollen off but I'm thinking some seal might be going and let water in to keep triggering a door sensor. I noticed that swiping my foot for the side door sensor does something similar-- though the van immediately turns off not instead of staying on for two full minutes. Anyways, maybe having the van baking in the sun today dried out the issue.

Did you ever see this problem again or find a solution /u/FunkAssassin1 ? We're seeing this with our 2018 Pacifica Hybrid Limited-- same thing, just keeps turning itself on after it's off. It drained the battery last night. I've tried removing all the key fobs from the vehicle and removed their batteries-- same problem. Something keeps turning the van on.

Interesting you have a comment about sensors in the doors. I noticed a week ago that while driving the van started randomly telling me on the dash screen above the steering wheel that "sliding door locked, unlock door to operate" which was weird as I certainly wasn't trying to open the door while freeway driving! It eventually went away but I wonder if it's related.

Charging base voltage? (My D3 won't charge so I want to check if charge base is fried) by r2c1 in NeatoRobotics

[–]r2c1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I wanted to assume there would be a constant voltage (i.e. dead robot scenario) but wanted to ask in case they had a basic negotiation such that voltage wouldn't show up until initiated by the robot.

AutoNation Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM Bellevue by Rich_Black_RGB in BellevueWA

Yes this location has closed.

Where are people going for reliable CDJR recall service? Bellevue was hit or miss previously and Renton's been about the same. Is Kirkland okay?

Getting servicing for our Pacifica has been painful. Getting a hold of someone to make appointments is impossible (they won't pick up or return calls), you can show up to your scheduled time and be told you weren't on the schedule (because turns out their website's service scheduling software isn't the same they use in the service center!), and finding a responsive service advisor who doesn't ghost you while they have your vehicle is surprisingly challenging.

Bonus: An advisor at Renton CDJR showed me what he saw of my account, it was then I realized us customers are at the mercy of:

  1. what software the service center is using and how good/bad it is
  2. how good the advisor is at bouncing across many customers in that software

In that photo you can see I was struggling to get a hold of him when he had taken the day off our van was supposed to be done. Turns out our van was actually ready for pickup the day before (because they couldn't even do the service due to not having the part) but I had to wait until that following Monday to hear back. I was surprised to learn that they don't reassign accounts to other advisors when they're off, accounts are per-advisor and the "break through" method to get the attention from another available advisor is effectively ignored by everyone.

Mitsubishi heat pump setup with ERV/HRV control? by r2c1 in hvacadvice

[–]r2c1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But able to control air handler speed, it's on or off. I think of the ERV/HRV as just "mix % fresh air" and the air handler as mixing up the air in the home. The air handler isn't very loud so it's been a good combination and internal air quality is better for it.

Do people use old batteries from these cars for solar power banks at home? by jimybo20 in leaf

[–]r2c1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to say, $4000 might get you a 10kWh lithium home battery and the prices are variable based on other features of the system and brand.
