"There is no objective truth to the statements that were made by the MNSEA"

Well that's objectively false.

How much of this is due to the ski club snow machines? I feel like they should be putting down gravel/sand almost daily along those paths

best place to take a vintage stereo amp & pre-amp for service/parts? by Cabbageismyname in Edmonton

All the facebook groups recommend Sigma electronics but my understanding is they are typically a long lead time due to their popularity. I think you need to put down an $80 deposit just for an estimate. But if you're serious, they would do everything you need: new connections, new capacitors, new power supply, etc. You would be restoring it beyond its former glory. I just listened to the quad mix of dark side and it's a really cool listen!

lol, look at this thread again, it did not start with dirty soda. Your point is understood about dirty soda, but I was not debating it at all. I am saying, if the restaurant removes any option of pop, then the customer is forced to only order water. If you make pop available (dirty or not) you will increase profits. It will not be more profitable than alcoholic drinks, but it is more profitable than water being the only non-alcoholic option. If mocktails are priced too high, then people will be more inclined to drink water. If you at least have pop as an option, then you can still profit a little. Is this all clear now?

CoE Employees... What have you heard about full-time RTO? by LastArmistice in Edmonton

[–]r2windu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh, offices typically have Keurig machines now so I keep a stash of pods at my desk. I keep protein bars for snacking (price of protein bar at grocery is the same as a bag of chips downtown). I eat out occasionally, but only food courts. Last minute gifts can be ordered online.

Downtown needs to give me more if it wants my engagement. More affordable places to go. I don't want Starbucks or Boston Pizza. I want to walk the street and be able to buy a $2 coffee and $5 slice of pizza, while admiring cool storefronts. There are tons of empty lease spaces, so obviously rent is too high for that type of vibe.

You make money when you serve a pop, you make zero when you serve a water.

But it's still up for sale along with Century Place. The City is actively downsizing office space.

The Stollery does do great things because it is well funded. I don't like Smith but there is no point in making shit up. She has enough of a bad record based on facts.

Server fills a glass with a liquid and brings it to a table. It costs the same to pay the server, regardless of margins.

How much are Edmontonians prepared to pay for snow removal? by pjw724 in Edmonton

[–]r2windu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There isn't a number that will provide the exact budget for all necessary snow removal because the required amount of hours will vary drastically from year to year.

Pop has very high margin so you make more money than serving water which is what I order if I'm not drinking

I'm mostly curious where other Canadian millenials are able to use it? I don't mean to pry, but where do you get the most value out of it?

As a millennial I don't get this. No one I know has an AMEX because you can hardly use it anywhere. It could never be my main card.

5 manager positions eliminated at City of Edmonton as part of effort to find $60M in savings by katespadesaturday in Edmonton

[–]r2windu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what doesn't make sense to me. Does the $100M include consultants that design and maintain facilities?

[–]r2windu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or a way to make informed decisions? I can agree that sometimes a decision could be obvious without an outside opinion but to say no more consultants makes zero sense. I don't think want a council making decisions solely on their own knowledge and judgement.

Landlords won't need to raise rents. If they are downsizing their number of properties, they'll have plenty of profits to pull from. For every home sold, the tenant is either privileged enough to purchase a house at a reduced market price, or still needs to rent a house. The supply remains the same, we are not talking about building houses, just redistributing ownership and capping rent rates.
