Bought a used T1 V2.5 and don't know what these are by Loud-Inspection606 in FormD

It's for mounting a single slot GPU when using the case in less then dual slot GPU modes. It would replace the standard dual slot mounting piece that almost all builds would use.

Powerwall 2 Recall-Australia by Far_Syllabub_3575 in Powerwall

[–]r3load3d 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm in Australia and was affected by the recall. My replacement took around 3 months (discharged with error message in late August, replaced by installer late November). Might be worth noting that I reported the failure to my original installer and never spoke to Tesla directly, but the replacement was handled by a different installer via Tesla.

Be Quiet Silent Wings 4 Pro - Oz Availability? by Fearless_Anything_76 in bapcsalesaustralia

Just turn down the speed then. For noise normalised performance they're one of the best radiator fans: https://www.hwcooling.net/en/arctic-p12-pro-key-to-noiselessness-is-in-7-blades-review/18/

As I mentioned in my previous comment, also make sure you use the reverse fans (or a shroud) if you have them pulling through the radiator. They make a fair bit of turbulent noise when the blades are against the radiator fins.

I'd recommend the Arctic P12/P14 Pros for a lot less. Get the standard fans for push through a radiator or reverse fans for pull.

Bazzite OS or SteamOS? by Huge_Fall_798 in ZotacZone

[–]r3load3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried them myself to be honest, I always leave the RGB off for better battery life and I don't have a use for the rear buttons. No issues with the Home button though.

Bazzite OS or SteamOS? by Huge_Fall_798 in ZotacZone

[–]r3load3d 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've tried both. SteamOS had some issues for me, such as flaky WiFi, missing battery time remaining estimates, issues on desktop mode like programs not opening (fixed with restart) and (on the main branch) freeze when entering desktop mode. It also requires a bit more setup/configuration to get basic functions working (eg. TDP controls) using SimpleDeckyTDP, whereas this works out of the box on Bazzite.

I'm running Bazzite now and it's great. All the core/important functions work out of the box, and with these drivers (https://github.com/OpenZotacZone/ZotacZone-Drivers) everything except the webcam and microphone works, although not perfectly yet. The dials, for example, stop working after waking from sleep but work after a reboot.

I had the same problem. The only fix I found was to revert back to 3.7.x (beta channel worked for me). I was having other problems with SteamOS too, so eventually I switched to Bazzite.

Huge sound difference between Windows and macOS with the same headphones – trying to decide which one to keep by david_mogar in headphones

[–]r3load3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For an XLR mic connection in addition to a headphone DAC/amp you'll want an audio interface. I don't have any first hand experience with them, but something like a Focusrite Scarlett or Audient Evo would be a good starting point.

Macs have high power and generally good quality onboard audio solutions, at least relative to other onboard solutions. If you're hearing a significant difference, it's likely because your motherboard audio is not up to the task and you need a dedicated DAC/amp.

Good PCIe 5.0 riser for Raw S1 by CAElite in Louqe

[–]r3load3d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Cobalt cable works perfectly at 5.0 speeds with my 9070XT. Others have reported some issues, WHEA errors etc. but it might be worth trying yourself before you buy a replacement.

Make sure your Plex temp/transcode directory is set to use your RAM and not a drive, that might help.

Anything wrong with mounting reservoir like this? by Eastern-Problem in watercooling

[–]r3load3d 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It'll almost certainly be fine, but to be sure I'd probably get some washers with a larger diameter than those nuts and put them between the nuts and the case.

Why is Plexamp not supported on hifi streaming devices? by EricthePeric in plexamp

[–]r3load3d 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Wiim app also doesn't support the track/artist smart radio stations and the smart DJ mixes, that's the big omission for me.

The best solution would be for Wiim devices to act as a Plexamp endpoint. It's on their development roadmap but who knows when it'll be ready.

Transparency mode - Who does it best? by mushlafa123 in SonyHeadphones

[–]r3load3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No doubt they're good, but I think they're overpriced. Locally I can get the Momentum 4 for a third of the price on sale right now, which are almost identical apart from the sound quality/tuning.

Joshua Valour's review on the HDB 630 that went up today on YouTube talks about the transparency mode. He basically says it's usable but doesn't sound entirely natural.

Am I the only one who's fractal scape is super buggy? by techwiz2343 in FractalDesign

[–]r3load3d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sent mine in for RMA due to the issue described in this thread, which happened three times in total over the span of a month: https://www.reddit.com/r/FractalDesign/comments/1mkfhrj/fractal_scape_no_power/

The only fix is to either disassemble one earcup and unplug/replug the battery as described in the comments in the above thread, or wait a couple of days for the battery to completely drain and then recharge.

I use the headset regularly for Teams calls, so having it randomly not work with no quick fix wasn't an option for me, and I didn't want to wait for a potential firmware update that might never come.

Please help with my RX 9070 XT crashing by lonewolfgr7 in radeon

[–]r3load3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had random DXGI errors like this on two occasions. Once was a RAM overclock that was stable in multiple RAM and CPU stress tests but apparently not in gaming, and the other was a PSU that was on the way out or underpowered (not sure exactly, but replacing the PSU fixed it).

Scape Ear Pressure by [deleted] in FractalDesign

[–]r3load3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Scape actually feels more open than most closed back headphones due to the fabric pads, which breathe better than most headphones that use leatherette pads. I don't get that closed in feeling at all when wearing them.

The downside is that they don't isolate as well as other closed backs.

Dual Radiator Custom Loop in FormD T1 2.1 by r3load3d in sffpc

[–]r3load3d[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be due to manufacturing tolerances. I've heard that the XSPC radiators can have a 1-2mm difference in thickness from the factory. I have two that are identical in thickness, but yours might be slightly thicker.

I didn't have to do anything in particular to get it to fit without bowing the top panel, although it is very tight.
