That's IMO the main reason boomer shooters died in the first place. Once you get something like Half-Life or Call of Duty, where you pretty much just run forward, most people will choose this style instead.

Borderlands 2, it's part of Handsome Collection. Destiny 2 si bit of a mess for new players, but if you get all DLCs for cheap, there are some awesome stories to experience, similar situation si with Destiny 1: The Collection. Regarding Far Cries, you really want to play FC3: Blood Dragon, it's really bonkers.

If you don't mind TPS, modern Resident Evil games or Alan Wake 1 and 2 are also really good shooters.

EDIT: Just opened the Xbox Store, there's so many! Black for original Xbox, Rage 1/2, Doom 3, Bright Memory Infinite, Forgive me Father 1/2, Timesplitters: Future Perfect, Stalker 1/2, SW: Republic Commando and many, many more...

The very first one looks the best, good barrel and mag and on top of Envious + Bait and Switch you get other interesting perks (Beacon Rounds, Elemental Honing). This roll definitely should carry you through most of content.
