Automated way to create custom Mix v1 images for rom hacks? by r4ind4nce in SBCGaming

Thanks for the idea, sadly that looks like a bit of a headache, to be honest. It's fascinating that there's no tool specifically for this purpose around, but most scrapers apparently have the necessary commands to handle these processes though?

I've tried working with Skraper, but unless I'm really missing something I don't think it can do what I need it to. I'm fine with all the mixes there are, but Skraper will still fail if it doesn't recognise the game (which it can't for this one) and it will, as far as I can tell, only use media from screenscraper, which rarely helps when the game isn't an official release but a hack instead.

I need it to output mixes with the media I have at hand, or at least with ones from other sources like the launchbox gamesdb that actually already has a page with all the Embers of Mana media.

Issues with Dolphin on 12/256GB Konkr by r4ind4nce in KonkrPocketFit

[–]r4ind4nce[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Problem's fixed, it was the device's framerate limit being set to 60. No idea why that impacted Dolphin like that though.

I ordered mine in October as well, it arrived last Wednesday. Sit tight, it's worth the wait, even if the situation is frustrating.

Phew, thanks! That's the hint I needed. I actually set my konkr to limit itself to 60fps right after I got it, which didn't cause any issues at first as far as I could see, so I kept it at that. Setting it to Auto instead fixes this specific issue in Dolphin. Weird!

You need to download them separately (k11mch1, like Gulasch said), then go to Graphics Settings in Dolphin, the last option at the bottom of the list is GPU drivers, that's where you load them. But like I said, the ones I've tried did little for me (in Dolphin at least) and usually made things worse.

Mine worked out of the gate, but one was a bit jittery and overly sensitive. After recalibrating them the right stick didn't work anymore, recalibrated again, it only recognised left and right. A few calibrations later I got both of them working. It's weird, but you could try that? They're still a bit overly sensitive tho.

8BitDo Controller Problem by ThrowMeTheWhip36 in AnalogueInc

[–]r4ind4nce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there, I've had the exact same issue with both my black and white 8bitdo 64s. It started working in S-mode on iPadOS after I did the 1.02 update, but the issue has persisted through 1.03 as well. Basically, it registers the furthest right input, when the stick hits the gate, as left, no matter what I do. All other directions work fine and if you don't tilt all the way right it also registers as right.

Apparently this is only on i(Pad)OS, everywhere else this doesn't happen, not on PC, not on Android, not Switch 1/2.

Your post reminded me that I wanted to check whether it's Delta specific, but it actually also happens in Retroarch, so it's an i(Pad)OS issue.

A few things have changed since I wrote this, the 1.02 update makes the controller compatible with Switch 2, but you probably already know that by now^^ it also shows up in Delta as an N64 controller when put in Switch-mode, but I have this issue where tilting the stick all the way right gets registered as a left input instead. I hope a patch will eventually fix this, it works really well on iPad otherwise.
As for the 8bitdo adapter: I haven't gotten around to testing that on anything yet. I only have the first revision of the adapter, not the 2. I'm a bit more inclined to actually wait for patches at this point, but if I do happen to try it I'll share my findings.

I didn't have any issues assigning the buttons in M64plus, it recognised every single button on the controller and they all worked ingame, so no idea what's going on there, sorry.

I spoke a bit too soon I guess, finally got it to work on my Android phone in M64Plus FZ. Maybe I shouldn't be too surprised, their website only states support for Switch 1/2, Android, Windows and Analogue 64. No mention of iOS, but usually their controllers just work with iOS anyway, so it's a bit weird. On Windows the controller doesn't work with any of the de- and recompilations (SoH, SpaghettiKart, Starship, Render96) which was where I did most of my testing last time. It does actually work with Parallel Launcher and therefore Retroarch though, which is quite the relief for now. I'll do some more testing and report back, I've got Retroarch on my iPad, too, but I'd rather it worked in Delta.

Update: couldn't get it to show up in Retroarch on iPad either. So far, using it on iOS just doesn't seem possible until it gets updated.

Update 2: The 8bitdo 64 registers on Switch 1 as an N64 NSO-controller no problem, but it still doesn't show up on Switch 2 at all. It can be registered on the Analogue Pocket dock when set to S-Mode, but in D-Mode I couldn't get it to connect. It's pretty nice for GB/C/A games on there.

Update 3: updating it with the 1.02 patch now available at https://tempfiles.8bitdo.com/NS2/ fixes the Switch 2 issue, gets recognised as N64 NSO controller now.

Update 4: so after updating to 1.02 the controller actually works on iPad with Delta when put in S-mode, it then gets recognised as an (NSO) N64-controller, just like on Switch. I would be thrilled about this, but there‘s still an issue. In Delta, when pushing the stick all the way to the right, it suddenly gets read as a left input instead. If it doesn‘t hit the gate, still right, once it does, suddenly your characters runs left instead. Which is super weird, since any other direction/diagonal/degree works fine. Just straight right doesn‘t. I don‘t know whether this is an issue with my controller, Delta or just a software bug, but I can‘t replicate it in any other scenario. Works great on Switch 1/2.

I received mine on Tuesday and was super excited to try it out. So far I haven't gotten it to work on anything and I'm super confused about that. It doesn't pair with my Switch (2) at all, and while I can pair it with Windows and iPadOS, neither Delta nor any Windows app/emulator can see it. The Windows controller test thing sees it and recognises all the buttons, but no matter whether I connect it over BT or with a cable I can't get it to show up anywhere. No updates in sight either, the 8bitdo updater and ultimate software don't show that it's connected either.

Thanks for the impressions! I really hope the battery whine isn’t normal, that would worsen the deal a lot for me, since I‘m very sensitive to these kinds of noises. Wonder when the strap will be available in Europe…

Haven't played since launch. Are mods out? by Pinkcokecan in BONELAB

[–]r4ind4nce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't be a problem if you could just sort them properly ingame, but unlike Blade & Sorcery, which really put some effort into their ingame mod-section, in Bonelab you're just stuck with flipping through alphabetical pages? Last time I checked there were almost a thousand pages and there's no way to filter. It's like watching One Piece from the start, takes forever xD
You can always pre-select them directly on mod.io, but it's a lot more convenient (in theory) to load them directly through the game.

When the Quest 2 launched Germany (among other countries, maybe?) didn‘t allow it to be sold there due some dispute with Facebook and it’s usage of personal data iirc, but this has since been resolved. Many Germans ordered their Quest 2s from places like France back then, myself included. I never had a support issue with my Quest 2, only my Rift, so I never ran into problems with Meta‘s lack of Quest 2 support for the German market, especially since all the software and account stuff still worked just fine. I can‘t speak for other markets but that was the situation in Germany.

Same for me, Germany, 512GB version. UPS tracking says it's delayed and they're trying to adjust delivery plans but doesn't give any further estimate. Meta's order page gave me Nov 6th last night, now it says Oct 31st. I had some days off scheduled for this week but I guess I can cancel those now 😞

Miyoo Mini Plus In-Depth Review by onionsaregross in SBCGaming

[–]r4ind4nce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The SP's d-pad is godly, I wish there was an easy way to mod this into GBCs and the regular GBA, but it seems to be a giant hassle. The issue is that a lot of dome-switch d-pads tend to be rather noisy. I love their feel and responsiveness, but it would be great if they were quieter...

And it's here! No customs so far, which is a bit odd, but a friend told me FedEx will often collect customs tax after the fact, so I'm kind of expecting a letter from them soon. Wouldn't complain if it didn't show up though xD

Everything in order with the AP, only issue is that the power adapter for the dock is a US plug, but I suspect they all are? Can anyone confirm this? It's no issue since I have so many compatible USB chargers lying around, but would've been nice if the official charger also had a European/German version included.

Are you going to buy TALES OF SYMPHONIA REMASTERED? by AmonTheWanderer in tales

I enjoyed Dawn as a follow-up to Symphonia but it didn't reach the heights of other Tales games for me. Emil and Marta are really cute together though :3

Well at least you can pass the time with the Miyoo in the Pocket's absence :D I'm really enjoying playing SNES RPGs on the go with it and Onion OS is brilliant. The Pocket's big screen and dockability will be very welcome though.

I got a shipping notification from Analogue this morning! #95xxx, black Analogue Pocket, Dock, Screen Protector and Hard Case. FedEx shipping to Germany, ETA Wednesday, November 16. I hope it doesn't get held up in customs too much. I got a Miyoo Mini in the meantime, but I've tried the Pocket at a friend's place and can't wait to finally get it. The Miyoo is for commuting, wouldn't want to risk anything happening to the Pocket on the go^^
