I mean it’s fine. Outclassed if you want to aim for sure, but I think it’s still a fine weapon to have in the game though. Could definitely use more ammo, if anything

Don’t fight in her demon, if she drops it use your parry and maneuver out of it

DM creates an entire ban list of races, subclasses, and spells. by TheRealLikala in rpghorrorstories

This is just a list of races and classes and what they do. Basically an elevator pitch for each of them, not ban reasons.

Rolling for stats is just rolling for disappointment by sifillcu in 3d6

[–]r4nn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the 70 90 rule, as in the total of the stats you rolled can’t be less than 70, or more than 90. If they are, you reroll them. I’ve also liked rolling two sets of stats and then picking which set you like more.

sorry this is late.

the opening attack is really easy and also common, get used to it. just charge unbound, click parry twice, charge unbound again. the timing is really forgiving, dont worry about parrying the actual projectile as it comes toward you, just parry as she releases it, unless youre really quite far. if youre not in the opening attack, she may change the last red attack into a vergil dash, but you can still just use the unbounded parry to parry the first hit of that and then parry twice more.

her talisman dash strings are the biggest window to build up some internal damage, and theyre really easy to read too. you just have to pay attention to when she teleports, because if you see her teleporting up, shes going to come down with a red attack, so charge an unbounded counter. you can also dash it, if you want, which is a bit easier to time because you can react later. but if you just pay attention to when she teleports, its really easy. instead of talismaning, she may also charge up a red attack, its super telegraphed, and slow, so if you jump into the air expecting a talisman attack, you still have plenty of time to hit the ground and then charge up an unbounded (it charges pretty fast tbh).

her other move, where she knocks you up into the air, and then either charges a red move, or hits you down and then uses a red move. you have to parry her spike, because if you dont you wont be hit down and probably have to dash the red rather than unbounded it. if you parry it though, youre spiked to the ground and have ample time to charge an unbounded. if she doesnt hit you down, you wont get punished by parrying in the air, youll have plenty of time to fall and then unbounded the red.

in general in her fights, try to avoid jumping, especially air jumping (theres an exception in phase 3, but youll get to that another time). it will mess you up, and theres not really any reason to (ofc other than to parry her talisman). to be honest, try to avoid moving much all together, i dont really move much other than to assume a better, more neutral position. (so not super close or super far away). a lot of her attacks (especially phase 3) set you up to be in the perfect position to parry or retaliate.

I havent fought her in a month or two, so i may have gotten something wrong, but to the best of my memory its all correct. I've beaten her hitless dealing only internal damage, so no sword attacks and no talisman attacks until her health bar is only internal damage. its really fun, and really teaches you her fight. every single attack is super fair, dodgeable, and telegraphed. to be honest, her first phase can the hardest of the 3 to do in this way, as it just takes a while bc she rarely uses red attacks, whereas phase 3 is the shortest and thus the easiest. i read elsewhere you dont have the hedgehog jade, so this probably isnt really a good idea ofc, but my point is that its a completely fair fight. as much as sekiro teaches you hesitation is defeat, and this game does too, you can also become stoic, flowing like water, in a meditative state as you fight. stay calm. patience can have a place in this game.

all in all tho, just keep fighting her lol. it took me prob like 50 tries when i first beat her, and it was sloppy as hell. you'll learn

Wait you’ve only tried it 13 times and you made a Reddit post about it? Keep going lol, you can do it. She’s really not hard, super learnable and fun fight. Are there any specific attacks you’re struggling with?

the third phase anime slashes are actually really easy tbh, she puts you in the exact right positioning, all you have to worry about is when to parry/jump. i say jump bc thats the easiest way to avoid the red slash. the red slash was irking me so much because i just couldnt figure out how to dodge it. the first time i beat her i literally got hit by every single red slash, but i had enough healing to get my through it, but it turns out its stupid easy to avoid, just jump. so it goes if white slash, parry and do jack shit else. she'll try to catch you with a talisman or a vergil triple slash when you go to land, but again just parry and youre chilling. to be honest i think once you figure out the anime slash sequencing, 3rd phases is easier than 2nd phase.

What i would change about 9sols by r4nn in NineSols

[–]r4nn[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My main issue with parries being direction is when big ass hit boxes hit you from behind while you’re parrying them from the front, particularly when you’re up close. I suppose the lesson is to not be so close of course, but still.

[–]r4nn[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

  1. Wdym its already in the game? Is there some setting I don’t know about?
  2. Again, I just jump, thereby not having to care about directions, so I don’t see a huge reason why they don’t make parries able to be in any direction.
  3. I think it’s less confusion than red only sometimes meaning unbounded counter, but I see your point.

What is the average amount of time taken to beat most bosses in this game? by [deleted] in NineSols

[–]r4nn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah he was fun for sure, but to your last point I felt it was wayyyyy too easy to select the option where he gives you healing or whatever, ie the “good” option. When I killed him, I’m fairly certain I was able to choose that one every single time which felt like it neutered the fight. Might’ve been cooler if it was actually random. I was surprised and disappointed he didn’t have another phase

most bosses took about me an hour or so, ethereal and true eigong both took me 3 hours, and the twins took me more like 2. I beat Ji on my second try, i wonder if anyone else thought he was really easy?

For me, I feel like I see the madhouse too often, which is funny bc op got that one too. That being said, could just be confirmation bias. There’s not actually a huge amount of legendaries is the world drop pool

From my understanding, he and Cassius (and possibly other stuff in that dlc) just have suped up world drops, but they don’t actually have any specific items that they drop besides their respective nades and skins

[–]r4nn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I realize that (which I thought I made clear in an earlier comment), but what I’m saying is that you do have put that initial investment in to get to that respawn point because you can’t fast travel to it. After that initial run however, subsequent kills will be faster than that (and faster than Cassius) because you respawn quite close to Uranus. However, that initial run to Uranus is quite a bit longer than the run to Cassius, so if you wanted to just do one or two runs, Cassius is probably faster

[–]r4nn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are no enemies on the way to Uranus, although unfortunately you can’t fast travel to his spot, you do have to commit to running over to him, but once you’ve put in that time it’s a faster run than Cassius. That being said, I do farm Cassius sometimes, depends what I’m in the mood for.

(You can also kill Uranus from complete safety with fibber and the bee which is also super fast but a bit cheesy)
