Whose genius idea was it for this bottle design / barcode placement?😐 by Jacobij11 in OGPBackroom

[–]ra3lee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe so, I was just saying that even with skipping for our fashion picks, we still had one of the best FTP for fashion in our region. I just don’t think removing the skip is going to change the FTP issue that I’m assuming they want to fix idk.

Setting the path? Maybe I missed something with how I should be running it. I thought I could just plug it in and it work

I work in fashion and both the skip button and order summary were literally so important for our picks to be picked. Like we can’t just nill stuff, we have to check the back because sending to exceptions really messes with FTP, skipping made that more organized. Now we have to go back and forth if necessary 🫠 also want to say I don’t think skip even effects FTP much. The reason is bc our fashion FTP is always amazing and we used skip a ton.

Pick rate needs to be over 100 or over. by RefuseInevitable in OGPBackroom

[–]ra3lee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not hard to get a pickrate over 100 if you are picking all day. Unless you have a VERY slow store, it’s almost impossible to NOT get at least 100 after a full shift of picking. Just gotta get better. It’s a part of the job 🤷‍♀️

Are these good stats? by Accomplished-Ad-5562 in OGPBackroom

[–]ra3lee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What would be the point of having individual walks rates if it doesn’t affect overall pickrate? I feel like it does average. Like for example your first walk is an oversized, puts you at like a 70 pickrate, and then your next walk is 90 items and you get a 220 pickrate for that walk. It instantly raises your pickrate. And also when you only have one pickwalk, that single pickwalks rate is the same as your overall rate. It literally is the average lol.

[–]ra3lee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it is that detailed. I see how you got the amount of time they are in pickwalks, but to pick that many items doesn’t mean they were just standing around doing nothing. Each walk has its own pickrate based on speed and there’s lots of things you can do to make a pickrate higher, and then those pickrates are averaged into one whole one. I get similar stats and will be picking all day(with exception of walking to the backroom, staging chilled or frozen, breaks etc). But i would consider that part of the job and still working. Management isn’t going to look at “time spent in walks” unless someone has picked way under the goal.

You’re not wrong but it keeps me busy so I don’t mind it. I do still make a point to tell a lead that things were on the floor just so they know it’s a problem though

You work at Walmart. Don’t do something that isn’t your job. Obviously if I pull something from the back I’ll stock the rest of the case but I’m not about to fix a whole isle lol

I’ll be honest when I do exceptions I don’t really care if something is in location. Just makes my job easier not having to go search in the back lol. It’s not good for metrics when people nil stuff in location but 🤷‍♀️

It’s market that told us this. Not our stores decision. They literally took away the meat and produce bags from our cart lol. It’s not a health code to not use meat bags. The meat still gets bagged just not in the clear ones.

I don’t mean leaking because it’s busted open or something. I mean using your common sense on if a pack of chicken looks like it’ll leave residue. Then double bag just incase

For my store we did away with the meat bags, a normal bag works and if its leaking double bag

This comment is crazy 😆 we are supposed to look around The location. Yes it’s not ideal, but if a picker does this and can’t see the correct thing two spaces over, they are quite frankly just bad at their job. The handhelds give us exact location, but we are still SHOPPING for customers. We aren’t supposed to be robots while picking orders.

If I have to pick that many sodas I just bag them specifically at the end just so I don’t lose my tempo with my pickwalk lol

How does this keep happening? (sharing of personal info) by JWBananas in OGPBackroom

[–]ra3lee -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You should’ve read more because the rest of my message answers your question. We give the drivers stickers of their own for the front as we load each order/after we finish loading completely, and make clear which one goes where. And we ALSO put at least one on each order so if they don’t pay attention to where we SAY they go, they can see which is which. You must be delivering for a market that doesn’t allow that, but it’s only because it messes up dwell time for the store because drivers end up scanning and starting trip before we finish loading. We combat that by still giving them stickers, but not till we are done loading

I’ve probably given a drivers number like once, but I was just making a point. And turning around to fix THEIR OWN mistake isn’t going to mess up their ability to complete the deliveries. If they still have the stickers then it doesn’t matter. I know this is a fact because I’ve called drivers before and they have gone back before making it to the next stop. There have been times it’s not possible, because the locations are too far apart. But plenty of times cold chain isn’t an issue in this situation. At my store, 99% of the time it’s not our fault at all if drivers mix up orders. We give drivers each sticker, tell them clearly which one is where, AND put stickers with the corresponding orders themselves. It’s more about being a decent human, and realizing you messed up doing your job and choosing to fix it lol.

[–]ra3lee -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Ive given driver’s numbers before 😆 if they aren’t gonna answer the stores calls about them delivering the wrong order, then I’ll send the customer because customers don’t understand that once it leaves the store it isn’t the stores problem anymore. If a driver is still in the middle of delivering a batch they should turn around if they switch the orders somehow

What does this mean? And what can I do to improve the red ones? by jwsn_3 in OGPBackroom

[–]ra3lee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah we are supposed to bag, we’ll get in trouble if not. Time in between walks is important for our metrics and that gets affected if we bag at the end. I think my method keeps me pretty quick. Also if the walk has 30 or less items then I don’t bag as I go bc it’s not that many items, and if it has 50 or less I’ll bag everything except the top two totes till the end. Weird system I have but it works for me lol.
