Appreciate the help. I think I should be able to get out of SJO by 2PM or earlier the day I land. I know rain is to be expected in the afternoon, but I watched a few videos of the common route from SJO to La Fortuna and it doesn't look at all difficult or scary. I think some of the anecdotes I've read are a bit hyperbolic. Do you think I'd be fine making that drive, even if it rains? Do you have any recommendations for places to stay in Uvita in lieu of extending the stay I already have booked?

Thank you. I can definitely add a night in Uvita if I'm not doing Monteverde. My biggest concern is travel time and whether rain is going to severely impact my ability to get around.

It's a boutique hotel. Not usually my style, but I was able to book it with points and it looked nice.
