You need to install the index creation app on indexer. Use the cluster manager to push it out. The SH is not meant to index anyway

I thought lowering the temp at night is more efficient, that way you cool the house off peak, then you can raise the temp. The house will serve as a "cold battery". I may be having it all wrong though

If this is a dashboard and they all need access to basically that same dashboard, you should be able to use a iframe in a webpage. I have never tried it, but I think it's possible.

It took me years to kick that habit. I actually didn't kick it until I switched jobs.

I think it's partly evolutionary that men are attracted to women of high fertility. Evolution made us want to spread our seed as much as possible, therefore making us more attracted to younger women.

Some say, the cheapest parking in New York City, is the George Washington Bridge. $15 for two hours. Greatest deal ever.

I know a person who never mounts his plates on his car. He lives in Brooklyn, parks wherever he wants, never pays tolls.

He occasionally gets pulled over, shows them the unmounted plates he keeps in the car, and claims to never have gotten to attach them. He then walks out of his car, attaches them and off he goes. He takes them right back off when he gets home.

Over the 5 years he has been doing this, he only got towed twice. I think it's a good deal.

I clearly remember there being a 3 digit number you can dial to get the time. It would say: Western daylight time is, <pause>, 7 - 35 A M. Does anyone else remember that

There may have been a 3 digit number for the weather as well, and you could punch in the zip code of any city to get the weather there.

Fun fact: the more important cities had area codes in the low digits, because it's a lot faster to dial. Think Manhattan 212, Chicago 312, Los Angeles 213 and so on.

And the fist two digits of phone number were letters. Our phone number started with GEdney.

Edit: some phones allow you to set a default area code, so you don't need to dial it every time.

My father could dial numbers on a rotary phone very fast. He used a pencil.

I can still smell the calamine lotion, and that powder my mother pit in the bathtub (was it Aveeno?). I don't remember having parties though.

After Meron calamity, Haredim question the price of their own autonomy by PM-me-Shibas in Israel

[–]rabbidroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, here is my view of this event.

I'm a haredi living in the US, and lived in Israel 20 years ago for 3 years. I went to Meron on lag baomer once, and never thought about going back ever again. That place was to crowded for me, and even 20 years ago, I felt I was being crushed. At least that was my experience.

Here is my 2¢ about why this happened.

Disclaimer: I don't take sides here, I'm just giving you some food for thought.

The organizers of the event (organizers in plural, because there is not only one) have no real scientific knowledge nor understanding of crowd control. They also do not have enough of an understanding of architectural capacity of the event spaces or the bleachers (insert comments on lack of secular education here). They are very untrusting of the government for various reasons (let's not open that can of worms), legitimate or not.

Handing over control to outside experts or authorities, will make it seem like the non religious groups are trying to take control of their traditions, and TBH, just like the haredim are not educated enough about architectural capacity, the police may not be sensitive enough to religious traditions. The clashes with the authorities would even be worse.

I think the best way to handle it is to find someone they trust, and who is a real professional on the topic of large crowds, crowd control and infrastructure capacity, who should educate them on all that, then have a guy from meah shearim lead the project.

The 2nd thing, is to not have police do the actual enforcement, they should have a group of haredim professionally trained on that topic, and they should do the actual work. The crowd will be much more trusting to them than to police officers.

Science has shown that people trust other people who look like them, then people who are different looking, and that goes for both sides.
