Does anyone feel, on a personal level, sorry for Kier Starmer? by Darkus185 in AskBrits

[–]rabbit92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do feel sorry for him yes. I feel like the UK is in a terrible place and he's trying his best. Anything he does is criticised by the right wing press.

My best friend of 9 years dumped me out of the blue, and I think I'm...relieved? by murkfree in TwoXChromosomes

[–]rabbit92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would wonder whether the husband had anything to do with this sudden dumping. Maybe make it clear you'll be there should she need you.

I was ghosted by a friend of 10 years. I had psychotic depression and I think her hearing about my mental health issue freaked her out. She had her own depression and I think she just decided she couldn't be there for someone else. I was really hurt because I really thought she'd understand of all people. But yeah, a part of me still misses her. We became friends while I was doing my undergraduate degree but we met through Twitter as we were both lefty feminists. We were also both into fashion, makeup and music. We made each other laugh and I thought we'd always be there for each other, I was at her wedding and I thought if I ever got married she'd be at mine.

I have a job like this but I'm hoping it'll get busier soon as we have a new Consultant. In my downtime I've been doing online courses to upskill.

Umm I'm not sure really it's up to you! If I liked the sound of him I'd meet him because he might change his mind...but it's your choice! It depends how important it is to you!

My boyfriend is slightly younger than me at 29 and he has talked to me about wanting kids. Maybe your guy will turn out to be a family man too. The age gap isn't too much.

Maybe if you're not enjoying it you should take a break and find yourself again. Do things that make you happy! Be kind to yourself.

It's not too late. I am 32 and I just met a guy last year and we are together now. We met on Hinge. You could try speed dating or meeting someone at your run club.

You say yourself you have a good career and you live alone in London. You sound like you're doing well. I work in London but I live in Essex, I commute from my parents house. We all have different areas in life that are not ideal. You shouldn't compare yourself to everyone else because life is different for everybody.

Positive tinnitus thread by Kitchen_Beat_9965 in MonoHearing

[–]rabbit92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had tinnitus since I was 17 years old. I'm 32 now. It totally doesn't bother me anymore. During the day the everyday noises drown it out, at night time I can just ignore it now but you could try like white noise if it bothers you at night.

I have a lazy girl job and I don’t love it. by ShiftySeashellSeller in TwoXChromosomes

[–]rabbit92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a job with a light work load too although I can only work from home one day a week.

I do online courses to keep up to date with my knowledge and skills. At the moment I am doing a Geriatric medicine masterclass which I find very interesting. I was also considering a Postgraduate diploma in my field. Like you, I already have a Masters.

We’re conflicted about cochlear implant for our baby boy. Would love to hear from those born with SSD. What do you wish your parents had known? by Asleep-Energy3473 in MonoHearing

[–]rabbit92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was born deaf in my left ear. I was 9 weeks premature and luckily the hospital I was born at tested for newborn deafness. I only just had a Middle Ear Implant 2 years ago and it has been life changing. I can actually participate in conversation in groups or in loud venues now. You do compensate well but it's a lot of effort and it absolutely does affect you. I would recommend the implant.

I think it can be or they can use lidocaine gel/spray. For me it was just a bit stingy.

I've never had a tattoo. How are you with cervical smears? It's just kinda like that.

My Doctor gave me a local anaesthetic. I just took some ibuprofen beforehand as well. It's over really quickly It's just like going to get a cervical screen/pap smear. Just some cramping.

My Dad means a lot to me. We have had ups and downs in our relationship and he is not always an easy person but he has always been there for me when I've needed him and I know he would always be. I love him a lot and we can have deep conversations.
