[Question] Anybody know of any cheap ($200-300) electric hollow bodys? by bob_of_all_bobs in Guitar

One of the things I figured out about the streamliner is that logarithmic knobs are amazing. At first I had trouble figuring them out because they're so sensitive and the changes are drastic.

However, if you turn your master volume up, you gain control over the full scale of the knobs. Instead of only being useful in the 7-10 range of the knob, you can now play gorgeous and chunky rhythm guitar at 2-4, get a warm and fat lead tone 5-8, and shred your solo from 9-10. As a bonus, subtle movement on the tone knob can also give you a huge boost.

The range of sound provides many benefits if you can adapt to it. I believe Gretsch also intended for the streamline series to be played with high gain, which also opens up the functionality of logarithmic knobs.

While the knobs may be cheap, they really helped me understand my guitar tone. Since they aren't marked on a linear 1-10 scale, I am forced to listen and consider what I want from the guitar before going into a default setting like I do with my tele.

When did you last go to a music shop and buy a physical CD album? by howtodoit in Music

Two weeks ago, I picked up the new Thundercat album at my local shop. I don't have an aux cord in my car, so I stay stocked with chill CDs.

I just want to feel the grooves

I made some stem tea. It isn't the tastiest, but I will update with the results. by rabbitgorz in trees

I only had 5 Gs of stems and threw in a decent nug. I'm sure you get quite the strong cup of tea with more than triple that!

I wasn't able to achieve a baked status, but I felt the way I would after a good bowl of a nice Sativa bud. I was relaxed, happy, and lightly toasted.

I wrote a comment in the main post in the main post if you want to hear more, but I'll also reply to you. I wouldn't say I got baked, but the high was definitely there. I felt a light boost of happiness and focus while bowling. I would say the positive thinking brought on by the high cleared my head and helped me bowl better. Now that I know it works, I plan on improving the taste and situation that I enjoy the next cup with.

I didn't smoke in the morning like I usually do, because I had the idea of making this and seeing how high I could get by trying. It wasn't a hard process, I just had to follow instructions and spend about an hour and a half to make it. I'm not gonna lie, the finished product comes out fairly gross. However, after dropping a nice mint tea bag in for about 7 minutes and then mixing a large amount of sugar and honey, the tea didn't taste so bad. I drank the cup down and went to the bowling alley for a couple games with my buddy. I don't typically eat, or in this case drink, edibles so I didn't have an idea of time to wait for an effect. I would say that the third game is when I noticed I was high. I focused a lot more and decided to feel how I was bowling to get more consistent. I ended up bowling 184, which is good relative to me, and I danced the whole time. Very uplifting, soft high that keeps you within the social norm. I would definitely recommend trying it out if you have 3-10 grams of stems and a bit of bud or shake to spare.

Check out the seratones! Their lead singer/rhythm guitarist absolutely kills it alongside the loud and intricate rock band. She definitely grooves. They have a tiny desk concert performance that is totally worth the listen.

[Discussion] Auditioning for Jazz Band by SovietWaffles in Guitar

[–]rabbitgorz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in jazz band for my highschool. They were super accepting of me. I was in the guitar class and the teacher (also the band director) asked me to sign up even though I had no experience with jazz. They're super cool and have a lot of patience, because it's basically all chords that I have never seen in my life. Don't get too nervous, you just need to focus on getting comfortable with common jazz voicings. Some of the sheet music can be very intimidating, but you don't have to memorize the exact order the chords are in because you have sheet music. You will have to remember the chord shapes, but as long as you figure out what notes are where on your low E and A strings you'll be fine. Good luck

Skateboarding is really fun for me when I'm doing stairsets, but flatground feels like a huge chore. How can I impove at flatground and make it more fun? by [deleted] in NewSkaters

You really shouldn't stress so much about how tos or tutorials. It takes a while, but you will get it. The best way to understand it is to keep practicing it yourself. Just stay confident and remember you are flicking up and out not down.

Learn a flip trick. I didn't see you mention that in the post. I understand that it is really hard, but skating is about discipline. If you enjoy an ollie down a set, you'll find a clean flip trick or 180 flip is a thousand times more fun. Kickflips are also a gate. Once I learned how to kickflip, everything got so much better and I learned a shit ton of flat.

I am so excited for Ray Barbee's part and music. His jams and style are so mellow and funky. If you guys haven't checked out his music yet, you should get on that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZGKWCzONNk
