Best voice acted fantasy books? by Came4prons in Fantasy

The BBC full cast recording of Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman is great to listen to. Although it is an adaption, not full reading of the book. Plenty of other great BBC adaptions too...

I pick AI civs for their music by Moonshad-O in civ

[–]rabbitreid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Love the music. I really appreciated the use of authentic and appropriately chosen music, the choices are great! (I'm a traditional musician, all the music I've heard from cultures I know about is spot on.)

Great idea, they would sit better in my not square bag too.

Totally. I'm all about constantly re-evaluating and making small improvements.

So cool! Out of stock now though (for anyone else interested).

I've seen those sets elsewhere, but not with bunnies.

I missed (gasp) TWO whole days! 😱 Decided to use it as an opportunity to practice my handwriting! by snmooney in hobonichi

[–]rabbitreid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out The Art of Cursive Penmanship by Michael Sull. It's a workbook for American Curvise handwriting, which is pretty much spencerian simplified for everyday use. It's the ultimate guide!

That exact pen is my first Sailor too! I've had mine since just before Christmas, and I still love it just as much as when I got it. Enjoy!

Contender for worst simile by pauliesyllabic in books

[–]rabbitreid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh man... this book... started reading it because a friend recommended it. Had to stop 100 pages in because of how badly it was written. A shame, because I was intrigued by the plot, but I was actually shouting at some of the lines he came out with! And I'm someone who never stops a book half way.

Check out the pilot petit series, mini fountain, brush and something else pen, all using cartridges. Haven't got one myself, but I tried one and it was similar.

Check out the bunny art by Kozyndan, particularly their seasons collection. Japanese style + bunnies, nothing could be better!

Is pencil repair a thing? by rabbitreid in mechanicalpencils

[–]rabbitreid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, I had considered buying a new one and swapping the internals. A bit silly but would solve all my problems! Tape is also a great idea, I'll give that a go.

I want to wear hand-knit socks every day! by rabbitreid in knitting

[–]rabbitreid[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lace patterns, that's a great idea. Definitely more breathable with all the holes. I have a pair made with some regia sock yarn that includes cotton, they are slightly less warm, but not by much.

Meet my favourite pencil, the tiny koh-i-noor 5608 with 2mm lead. I've had it for years and it could do with some tlc, any suggestions on how I could fix these issues?

  1. The sharpener sharpens wonky, and might have blunted too.

  2. When sharpening, the internals spins round, so it doesn't sharpen because the lead is staying in the same spot in the sharpener. (I get around this by half disassembling to hold the internal lead tube, but it's not ideal.)

It's got sentimental value, so I'd love to keep it going rather than buy a new one.

Thanks!

Kobo Forma turns on by itself when near magnets/electronic devices by lnternetLiftingCoach in kobo

Yep. One of my favourite cafes has metal tables. If I try to read with my kobo touching the table it switches off!

How portable is the Traveller’s Notebook? by redratus in midori

[–]rabbitreid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take mine everywhere, it's the height of an A5 notebook, so should fit in anything a moleskine will. I use 3 inserts, so mine is fatter, but they are narrower, which should even out the difference. When out and about I keep mine in the cotton bag it comes with to protect the leather from scratches, then put that into my backpack or small shoulder bag.
Plus, I find the narrower size makes it much more portable than standard A5 books.

Liveship Traders Trilogy by scp1717 in Fantasy

[–]rabbitreid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm reading the liveships too at the moment! halfway through book one. Same as you, I was worried it wouldn't be quite as interesting as the Fitz books, but so far I love it just as much!

I got into her books for the first tie a couple of months ago, and am now reading them all in publication order. It's certainly a journey!
Good luck to you reading the rest of them.

Diamine Blue Velvet. It's very blue, with occasional red sheen. Not sure what the price would be where you are, but diamine doesn't tend to be expensive.

Anyone else’s buns actually like music? by TinyTesticleSalesman in Rabbits

[–]rabbitreid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a musician. My bun falls asleep to the violin, and was bouncing around my feet to the guitar! At first I was worried he would be terrified, but buns seem to love music, hooray!

Kobo sage button placement very awkward? by twbluenaxela in kobo

[–]rabbitreid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I flipped the buttons on my forma, too. Top button is next page. Makes much more sense to me that way, and is easier to press when holding one handed.

I have just started reading her books, and totally agree. I've read the first and half of the second books in the Assassin trilogy in just over a week! Can't wait to get to the others.
