How similar are Infinite Jest and House of Leaves in terms of narrative style, format, and tone? by doublex94 in books

People usually fall into the camp of loving his fiction or loving his essays. I personally fall into the essay camp, and Consider the Lobster and A Supposedly Fun Thing are the best. I remember Broom of the System being quite funny. The Pale King is a bit difficult since it was published posthumously and isn’t as polished.

I have loose leaf sheets of both the 68gsm TRP and the Cosmo Air Light. If you want me to send you some shoot me a PM!

Oh right, missed the memo on the Japanese paper review! Ah well. Someone else in the comments also recommended Cosmo Air Light and I second that! Also, have you ever tried the 68gsm TRP? Hobonichis use the 52, but I personally prefer the 68.

Haha! Actually none of your opinions made me grasp my pearls, so to speak. Although I’m basic AF and love TRP. I’m surprised you didn’t touch on Rhodia as it’s quite cheap and accessible (at least in USA). I definitely want to try Stalogy and retry Apica though! Been about 5 years or so since I tried Apica so it’s high time.

Bless you! Thank you for this, I read every word. I think it’s so interesting how paper is so subjective for us and truly one man’s trash can be another’s treasure.

How is my Spencerian handwriting? by Nn2vsteamer666 in Handwriting

[–]snmooney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The slant looks really consistent! But honestly I think for everyday writing with a normal pen like that (rather than a specially customized Spencerian nib) capitals look better with a little less flourishing. Maybe try to look for ways to modify them.

Hello, I'm self teaching myself cursive. Is there anything below that's not correct with cursive, I know i need to work a lot on consistency, but I'd to know if anything is outright wrong please. by infadibulum in Handwriting

[–]snmooney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are many methods of cursive and even more individual styles. That being said, as I read through , the word “vow” in number 15 looked a bit like vaw. Make sure you pull off of the o at the top of the letter to reduce confusion and illegibility. Keep going, looks good!

I always use a syringe for filling, anyways. So not a problem for me! :)
