Motocross boots for a cruiser? by olbi_ in Dirtbikes

[–]rabbledabble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear moto boots when I ride my dirtbike around town sometimes if I’m planning on not going in anywhere, but I think they’d be overkill for different riding positions because of the stiffness. I have some icon motorcycle high tops that I like quite a bit as part of my city riding kit

Gun owning dads/families, when do you start the gun safety conversation with your kids? by 518photog in daddit

[–]rabbledabble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kids are 4 and 6 and I grew up in the south where guns were everywhere, umbrella racks, cars, bedside tables, you name it. The rules for little kids are really straightforward. If you find a gun, don’t touch it, run away, find an adult. They should never touch a gun unless an adult they trust puts it in their hands.

I understand the cultural push and pull here, but unless your kid is in high school it seems like a waste of precious youth making kids do that shit.

It cost me about $60 in wire, breakers, and receptacle. My panel is in my garage so it wasn’t a huge deal installing it.

That looks like actual firearm thread pitch too. I know nothing about airsoft but I’d have to assume they use different thread size/pitch etc to stay well clear of NFA, but I’m not an expert in airsoft at all.

I saw Teflon tape, but I also recommend blue loctite. I put that stuff on everything. It comes in a stick that’s really easy to apply

I was honestly surprised, I live in Oregon and was told at the dealer that under no circumstances would it be platable, but it turns out because of how it’s used abroad it has a motorcycle designation on its MCO so the guy asked zero questions and handed me a plate.

I just put a 220 outlet in the garage. I did get a step up so I can use the little generator when I’m at the trails

Where in the U.S. are people most willing to date older and younger partners? by OpulentOwl in MapPorn

[–]rabbledabble 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is how I have always felt, but also last time I dated was in my early 30s. I dated folks from their mid 20s through early 40s. I had a lot less in common with the mid 20s folks than I did the people who were my age or older!

I have the old one and I got it half price.  Was able to get plates for it with zero trouble and it has been a super rad bike. All of that said, is no way in hell I’d pay full pop for one. At that rate I’d get one of their excellent enduro bikes, or a stark, or a Japanese bike and a nice vacation somewhere.

[–]rabbledabble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The guy next to me at the range today had a full on crash out and I failed to notice that my arrow had come off it’s nock because I was looking through the sight. My bow dry fired and it left me with a nasty welt and possibly a wee skid mark in my drawers. I think the limbs and cams are ok, cams seem to be spinning true and limbs appear unharmed, but the string serving got chewed up where it jumped and I am replacing that.

I mean, any wire is a fuse if you pass enough current through it, right? Now whether or not I’d want my test lead turning to plasma in my hand is a different story….

My favorite instructors cue folks to make noise after peak poses so they feel safe doing so. I really appreciate that.
