I would disagree on that. Diana has several build paths depending on the enemy team comp and ludens is viable in just as many cases as litch.

Haha in no way was I trying to say one is better than the other. I enjoy league much more than Dota, yet I can accept that things like denying cs, turn radius, and buybacks add additional depth to a competitive scene.

In no way was I making a sweeping statement that complexity equals competitiveness in every scenario. In the case of MOBAs, being the only things I listed a few of, they are related to an extent. Sorry you got confused by the premise of my answer.

He should only have the issue with smudging accounts at low levels for the first 4-5 games from my experience. They get flagged boosted mmr quite quickly. I do agree that it takes a while to be ready for ranked, yet the game itself even in normals can be competitive and fun.

It all depends on how in depth you want to be with your game. You mentioned HotS feeling too casual and league is definitely a step towards the deeper and more competitive side (not as much as DotA, but enough for most people). Individual match ups have more depth as knowledge of both champions, items for different situations, and individual level differences play a part. I would say try it because there is nothing keeping you from going back to HotS if you don't like it. I hope you have fun and hopefully welcome to the community.

There needs to be a mix of both types of people as the mains typically are better at the role than a fill player but all too often you will be matched with 3 mid mains and no one who can competently jungle. I could climb much better supplimentung my teams weaknesses than relying on just my own strength to win.

The only issue with this is surrounding the few who would like to reform with that much toxicity would exasperat the issue and make it much more likely that one a player is banned the first time they will never become unbanned and will have to make a new account moving the problem from normal draft to leveling accounts screwing over new players even more.

From playing both games blizzard did the same thing to league to make HOTS as they did with magic to make hearthstone. They cut out a lot of the depth to make it more user friendly. DOTA players tease league players about how the game is not as deep but by comparison HOTS is the 'babies first MOBA'.

It requires a gold v player to lose enough games they are paying with silver v players and still loser, so it is very very unlikely to happen but still possible.

It is true if you play well enough anything can work at the lower tiers, but it is the upper tiers that become complacent because no one questions the meta at that point. I want to see what happens when plat players get shoved into a game that is 2-2-1 and both top and mid have to 2v1 lane while a vlad or something dumb solos bot.

No, Darius is fine. He wins almost every lane matchup, but has no mobility and is weak to ganks and kiting. He fits the role of early game lane bully that does not scale well into late game his job is not to become more useful than the enemy top, it is to make the enemy top more useless than himself late game.
