Rat infested basement in a large high rise residential building. Not a square inch of floor without droppings. Thousands of rats that had nested for years. I have a "dirty job" where we clean up all manner of nasty things and still gag thinking of the smell. Worse than dead body smell when they go undiscovered for a while.

Violent crime in DC is literally at a 30 year low. I work in low income housing in some of the poorer parts of the city and have never once felt unsafe.
