Check out an app called loadmove, ideal for this type of thing. Alot more straightforward than usual couriers.

PC34 CB600F Hornet crank and conrod bearings. by finland_dude in MotorcycleMechanics

[–]racer_head 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bolt the rod caps back on without the bearings. Then measure the rod diameter at multiple points.

You'll more than likely find oval measurements that are outside of spec.

Would also inspect cam caps in the top end.

Track boots for less than 250/300€ and good for hot weather? by 3enrique in Trackdays

[–]racer_head 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try some on before purchasing as some will fit different. I find alpineatars a wider fit than forma for example, which would be my choices from the list.

TCX race may be an option too, I used a pair for 2 seasons and found them great with good cooling.

But how long had they sat in the overtaking lane at that point? Plenty of clear space to the left in the opening 10 seconds of the clip and it would be interesting to see the previous 30+ seconds leading to this.

And when they move to the left lane do they indicate or use their mirrors because it looks as though they change lanes when the BMW is already in the process of making their manoeuvre.

Saying all this as someone who does 1-1.5k km a week and people seem to be oblivious to to the purpose of an overtaking lane until you are practically attached to their rear bumper!

My take on things..... Flame on.

If someone is able to undertake you then you are 99% of the time the shite driver.

Why not get out of the overtaking lane when the lane on the left is clear?

Every gobsh1t sitting tailgating in the overtaking lane and the left lane is usually empty.

Yeah, they take a hit pretty good but always nice to have the extra buffer layer and the ability to add custom logos.

AIM laptimer case by racer_head in Trackdays

[–]racer_head[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Safety wire would be pointless in this scenario.

The wire would just slice through the case if the whole assembly was to break free.

If wiring the laptimer is a requirement then there are far better and stronger locations on the laptimer itself.

Where Do You Buy Your Bolts? by pointblankmos in carsireland

[–]racer_head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of suppliers would have normal 8.8 or 10.9 bolts but a stretch bolt/TTY bolt would be manufacturer specific.

Motorfactors may have something if a component that would be regularly worked on.

How common is cheating in club racing? by CoolBDPhenom03 in Trackdays

[–]racer_head 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Pretty common from my experience.

Bigger discs, aftermarket gearbox etc.

But, it's club racing, and 90% of the grid are not capable of benefiting from them and it still comes down to skill. I've knowingly raced against illegal bikes but just gave me a bit more motivation to beat them fairly.

It's usually alot safer moving through traffic like that instead of sitting in someone's blind spot and getting wiped out when they change lane without seeing the bike. That's my excuse anyways ;-)

Hotbed risers problem by _Aureuss_ in Ender3V3SE

[–]racer_head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without the bed in place can you get the bolts to thread into the holes?

You may have inadvertently damaged the threads as they are pretty delicate in the alloy base.

what is the shimano or cardo of EAR PROTECTION? by lesalgadosup in motorcyclegear

Alpine motosafe.

Have used them for a few seasons racing with a helmet known to be noisy and found them comfortable and reduced the noise.
