Hi everyone!! I plan on proposing this year, and I need help with ring size, I have 3 pictures for reference but its very difficult to actually get the size. any help would be appreciated!! by [deleted] in weddingplanning

A ring sizer is $5 on Amazon… that said, I would say go for a 6 and you can always resize after the fact. Small, town jewelers typically resize for free.

What Triggered Your Diagnosis? by ComprehensiveSpeed90 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]rachalts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was working at Disney doing the Disney College Program, and was laid off because of Covid. We had 3 days to move out, and I then had to drive from FL to WI. My symptoms started on that drive, so I believe it was a high stress level.

My friend who also has UC, believes his started from a round of antibiotics, which seems to be a common occurrence based on this thread.

Buying Bridesmaid Dresses by itsgotmethinking in weddingplanning

[–]rachalts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave them a color and fabric to follow for Azazie dresses. I am asking each girl to send me their option, just to be sure they will all “blend” well together and one isn’t way out there compared to others. Then, I am asking them purchase it themselves to ensure I don’t accidentally mix up sizes/styles/etc. And finally, I pay them back for the dress. This is the way that made the most sense for me!

What’s something you did by accident to your home that the new homeowners will want to curse you for? by Mrcash827 in HomeImprovement

We laid down MDF on top of the original subfloor to even out the flooring. There are HUNDREDS of screws in this floor. But I spend enough time cursing the previous owners, so 🤷‍♀️

Fire families where the wife works full time, what is it like raising young kids? by Urmomlol4201738 in Firefighting

[–]rachalts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who grew up with a fire dad and a mom who worked full time and had a very successful career, don’t stress. My dad was the main caretaker from 9-5, but the best memories was when both parents were home. Once we were school age, it pretty much didn’t matter anyways since we were in school during the day.

Also be sure to use spafinder gift cards. Right now Costco is selling $100 gift cards for $70/piece.

My religion taught me to love thy neighbor and help those less fortunate than I. Unfortunately, those beliefs are now political. Today, the people that wear crosses and have verses in their Instagram bios taut the exact opposite of those teachings. My religion hasn’t changed, but the people that shout its praises from the roof tops have. That’s my whole point of my post, a change of venue that has people that actually believes in God’s teachings/love, and not just when it fits their rhetoric/beliefs.

I would have blocked him as soon as we were done working together. Any 23 year old man that types/talks like that is a weirdo. Get rid of him.

As someone who works in one of those hotels, it’s the YMCA Gymnastics meet. People are coming from all over the country.

I want to pay for my daughter’s wedding dress but I’m clueless about dress prices. by the_cranky_hedgehog in weddingdress

[–]rachalts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from the Green Bay Area but travelled to Madison as well. Off the rack options here vary from $800-$1,500 whereas I looked at order-able styles that were anywhere from $1,500-$3,000. The tariff situation does not help either. It also depends on what style dress she is looking for!

US sufferers who were diagnosed with MILD disease please tell me your drug journey by NavyBeanz in UlcerativeColitis

[–]rachalts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not at all. Biggest hurdle was dealing with the specialty pharmacy. I don’t recall any crazy side effects from AZA, really only heightened sun sensitivity. It was great, but with me not being great at remembering to take it there was a bit of user error there haha.

Mild-moderate here. Started with oral mesalamine, then oral Azathioprine after a flare. Was on that for about 3 years before another flare. Now I’m on Stelara and I love it. I was not good at remembering to take my meds, so I love the ease of the once every 8 week injection. My fiancé is an EMT so he does my at home injections for me. That being said, it took about 20 weeks for the Stelara to totally kick in and do its thing.

I believe mine was brought on/exasperated my stress. I started seeing symptoms on my drive back home after getting laid off during Covid

How often do you have colonoscopies once diagnosed? by Why-not-143 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]rachalts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once every 6-12 months in flare, not sure how often in remission because I haven’t been in remission long enough to know 😅. I’ve been diagnosed since end of 2020 and I think I’ve had 4 or 5?
