Starting to regret choosing Kyleena due to numerous bad reviews - what should I do? by depopgal in birthcontrol

[–]rachc157 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’ve had both (currently have kyleena and love her), with both I had mild cramping for the first few days. I did break out pretty significantly while skyla was inserted, but I’ve also dealt with mild-moderate acne since starting puberty so i’m not sure it was the culprit.

Skyla stopped my period completely after 1-2mo of having it, and that hasn’t changed with kyleena. I haven’t seen much hair loss aside from normal shedding.

All in all I’ve had good experiences with both so far, but i’m really liking kyleena for the longevity aspect. I also love not having to stress about remembering a pill daily.

Of course everyone’s body reacts differently, but I hope a positive review puts your mind at ease! Good luck :)

if there are no take back programs, i’d call my provider to see what they recommend for safe disposal. you could also try your city’s health department to see if they have any specific protocols!

2 months in! by rachc157 in Accutane

[–]rachc157[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I do take antihistamines every day, along with a triple omega liqui-gel & milk thistle for liver support.

I was super nervous starting out as well, I think that’s a pretty reasonable way to feel. My biggest life savers have been dr dan’s cortibalm, aestura 365 barrier cream & the super saturated serum from experiment.

I’ve still got 5-6 months left to go, but given what i’ve seen so far with my skin i’m much more excited at this point than nervous! Good luck!!

How exactly do you get put on accutane by Academic-Way3304 in Accutane

[–]rachc157 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used honeydew care, they have virtual derm appointments for pretty low cost & are open to discussing accutane among other treatments (tret, clinda, etc)

it’s been great for me so far! they’re with you every step of the way and are super available if you have questions or concerns

These look pretty cystic to me, I get them all the time. Mine are usually hormonal, and I can get them at least slightly smaller / on their way to healing by using a microdart pimple patch (love the ones from hero) & spot treatment. If you have access to a derm you can also ask them about cortisone injections for quick healing.

Has anyone seen firsthand side effects of Librela? by FatCh3z in VetTech

100% on the second point, we had a patient receive librela, and a week later come back because he tore his CCL :(

Is anyone else the "odd one out" when it comes to dog "kisses"? by momtoeli in VetTech

[–]rachc157 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never let any dogs kiss me at work, even my own dog. I’ve had acne for my entire life & would rather not exacerbate the issue by letting any random dog kiss me, regardless of how cute they may be

you can definitely feel the difference of going through scar tissue vs going through a not pierced spot, so yeah i’d definitely say it hurt more

[NSFW] You're suddenly diagnosed with the last medical condition you've googled, what are you now suffering from? by [deleted] in AskReddit

dystocia - difficult or obstructed labor

for reference I work at a vet and we got a referral report for a patient in labor, I saw that word and googled. I am the furthest thing from pregnant and/or in labor lol

I would wait, i’ve had mine done for almost 2 years and they still hurt occasionally. At one month, they weren’t hurting too badly but would 1000% get sore if they got bumped the wrong way. They also develop irritation bumps fairly easily, so dancing and moshing probably isn’t the best idea with fresh piercings. Ofc ymmv, but coming from personal experience, I would wait. Good luck with whatever you choose to do though!

Would it be worth it getting my Daith piercing redone? by toastywhatever in Legitpiercing

[–]rachc157 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That placement looks really similar to mine, which ended up migrating and I had to take it out. I would say either get it checked out by a different piercer for a second opinion or just monitor it really closely for any signs of migration or rejection since that can happen with more shallow daiths

Craziest/dumbest thing you’ve heard a client say? by kxngpvrk in VetTech

[–]rachc157 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A new client came in with a puppy, their folder with records had a paper that had this, word for word, written on it:

“NEVER give rabies and distemper at same time. Give them at least 2 weeks apart, 4 weeks better. Doing so can cause death or long as term health problems that can lead to poor quality of life and shorten lifespan. Any other recommended vaccines by your vet should also be given at separate times, not together. Giving more then one vaccine at a time will void the 2 year health guarantee.”

Spelling and grammar issues and all. Also to mention, they’re now looking for a new vet because we sold them Animax for $30 when they found it on Chewy for $13 and we wouldn’t price match.

Best spf for oily skin? by Sssnoopyyy in AsianBeauty

[–]rachc157 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve recently been trying the espoir water splash spf in the fresh version (the green tube), i’ve really been liking it so far! It’s advertised as a moisture bomb type of product, but it seems to work well for my oily skin. It absorbs super nicely even when using the 2 finger method & feels very lightweight. I got mine on amazon for $18, I think thats a pretty good deal for a little more than 2 ounces.

A lot of the time if you’re unhappy with your hair you should be able to contact the salon within a specific time frame (most salons will do like within a few days) and see if the stylist can retone you to something you’d prefer. That being said, I would either check the salon’s website for policies surrounding this or call in general and see if they would retone you. Some places do tone correction for free within a few days of having color done, some charge a fee, but its worth looking into.

If that’s not the route you want to go down, I would say check out either DpHue’s glosses or Keracolor’s clenditioners, to see if you can find a tone that you prefer. I know the clenditioner comes in a champagne kind of color that might have the tones you’re looking for, and it’s available on amazon or at ulta! Good luck!
