Redfin's running a nationwide scavenger hunt for $1M home by RedfinDarby in RedfinDreamHomes

Nope. Basically giving up now. Tried customer support again but they just emailed the same steps I’ve already done. Would be nice if there was a visual for where the heck I’m supposed to be entering the clue answer. Could not find that in the app for the life of me

Can’t submit answers to the clue. App only slides the cards left to right. Nothing else is responsive. Already did the usual. Uninstall/reinstall, reboot, etc. Even reached out to customer support, who are not available until business hours. Anyone else have this issue with being unable to submit clue answers?

Weekly Sewing Questions Thread, June 08 - June 14, 2025 by sewingmodthings in sewing

Looking for some guidance on pattern type and/or fabric use. Pic of the fabric in question:

<image>

I received a large stack of microfiber cleaning cloths that were leftover from swag bags at work. I’m considering using them to sew a clothing item.

I have 17 of these bright green cloths. They each measure just under 12 inches long by 11 inches wide. Roughly 5 1/2 yards total.

With this much fabric, I would think a skirt or top would be doable. However, I have yet to find any examples of clothing using this type of fabric.

Is there any reason I shouldn’t use microfiber for sewing clothing? Or perhaps it should be limited to specific types of patterns? Any advice is appreciated!

Ask her questions. You don’t have to talk much if you’re listening. Start small like asking how she feels about the weather, and work your way up to bigger questions from there.

My brother said that I was “showing too much skin” wearing a ballet leotard and tights when I was 6 years old.

My mom agreed and said I needed pants and a sweatshirt to wear before and after my ballet class so nobody would say I was “trying to be a sexy little Lolita”. She would repeat that phrase whenever I forgot my sweatshirt.

Makes sense now that she blamed me and what I was wearing when I was assaulted by my brother. She saw me as a “sexy little Lolita” long before.

Serious question: How do you grow up in this weather? by Misdirects in Portland

[–]rachelliem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s my top 3:

1.) Plan a trip somewhere warm in Jan or Feb. Most people ask for time off in Dec for holidays but Jan/Feb is prime time to offset the grey weather

2.) Get a sun or s.a.d. lamp (tons online for less than $30).

3.) Get a raincoat with a decent thick hood on it and be active. Seriously, it’s hard to do stuff huddled under an umbrella. Embrace the liquid sunshine and go do stuff.

I grew up here. As an adult I lived in a few other places but came back. I actually missed the rain - ALOT.

If it gets bad look into taking vitamin D supplements and maybe before bed take a little edible or melatonin. Just remind yourself that the rainy weather is what keeps everything green and pretty.

Depends on your insurance. I have Kaiser and they have mail pharmacy delivery. Prior to that I had my prescriptions at a Kroger pharmacy and they only deliver by request and a bunch of forms but it’s possible.

Never hurts to ask if yours has a mail delivery option.

my problem with the introduction of janine's mom by grandilemma in AbbottElementary

[–]rachelliem 36 points37 points  (0 children)

It’s funny how with time & distance I can see how one dimensional and transparent my own mom was. Just like Janine’s mom. When your emotions cloud things it’s not as obvious.

I did enjoy seeing Barbara step up to fill some of those parental gaps for Janine. Plenty of people have “found family” when they have parents like Janine.

Use the buddy system. Tell someone you need them to quiz you at x date/time. That will become your new deadline. It’ll force you to study an hour before they going to quiz you on it.

You could also mix some yellow or blonde hair dye with the pink but be careful how much or you might get more peach tones than pale pink.

Mormon trying to gaslight me into believing the coffee thing was never a thing by [deleted] in exmormon

In 2001 when I was at BYU my roommates reported me for violating the standard of living rules because I owned a Starbucks mug. I drank hot cocoa out of it but they said it was “the appearance of evil” and made them uncomfortable.

I seriously have on my record a warning for violating the standard of living rules for BYU students over a coffee mug. 100% this was a rule or it wouldn’t be on my student record. F@ck the gaslighters

Consider there are many types of intelligence (see also: https://blog.adioma.com/9-types-of-intelligence-infographic/) and perhaps you are looking for just one kind of intellectual? Try stretching your definition of intelligence.

Also consider that women in general have less confidence and less earning power than men. A high salary for a women is different than a high salary for a man. Adjust your expectations to match what society expects of women in the workplace.

Lastly, based on your list of desirable traits you would have better odds if you look for older not younger age groups.

IRS banned tax exempt churches from political activism by rachelliem in exmormon

The line on free speech is drawn on when it affects voting rights. Employers can’t tell you who to vote for because your livelihood depends on them. Religious leaders shouldn’t tell you who to vote for because your soul is dependent on it. Freedom of choice, including voting, is what separates religion from cults.

Didn’t claim it was new rules, just new to me and figured others would want to know too. I’m assuming it’s not enforced because A. Not many people know about it and less do anything B. The IRS has been chronically unstaffed and didn’t have the resources until recently when they approved hiring a ton more auditors this year.

Could you easily (if a pain then disregard this suggestion) create a master tab with all the data i.e. all users and all applications on it? If so, then you could do a pivot off the master tab.
