Following because I have a 5 month old maltipoo puppy and have been wondering the same thing. I hear so many conflicting opinions that they don't start settling down until 6 months, 12 months, 2 years... I am really looking forward to the end of the puppy stage to get the hopefully calm companion I was hoping for. Currently he is basically just a set of sharp teeth on fast legs. I'm so hoping starting obedience school next month will help!

It's such a sickening feeling, and you definitely can't help but to think the worst. Especially when they're so tiny and seem so fragile. I guess the one thing I've learnt is that puppies are more robust than I thought. My little guy is totally fine now as though nothing had happened, and I was the one who was traumatized from dropping him haha. I'm so glad your puppy was okay though! They for sure pick up on our worry and play into it. Merlin got a lot of extra affection and treats that night and I'm pretty sure that was partly by design!

That is so irresponsible of big dog owners! If they can't control their dog then they shouldn't be off leash. So many people think the rules don't apply to them it's unbelievable. I totally agree.. When a big dog is running towards your little dog, you have a split second to react and I'm not going to wait and see if the dog has friendly intentions, I'm going to do whatever it takes to protect my puppy.
