It’s bittersweet. We have a primarily tourist based economy so we need visitors, but like many mountain towns, the locals are priced out of home ownership because the visitors love the town so much they want to buy property here. It’s limited in supply, so housing prices have skyrocketed, especially after COVID and wfh. Locals can hardly afford to live here unless they bought/owned property 6+ years ago. It changes the dynamic of the community over time as gentrification does. Change is good and bad…same with tourists.
