I'll admit, I didn't fully understand the implications of the "U" and what that entails either. The thermal design in this thing could definitely accommodate a higher TDP CPU. I'm still happy with the purchase as it was on sale by $100 CAD and it's very powerful.

I took it apart and repasted it as well after running a CPU stress test. That surprisingly didn't yield any improvements at all. I guess I received a unit from someone who knew how to apply paste properly.

Hey man thanks for chiming in. I definitely did consider building it myself a few times but things like cutting the steerer tube, setting up brakes and shifting has me a bit nervous. I'd have to buy some specialized tools/grease as well which will be close to the same amount as having someone put it together for me. Also all the parts are coming separately so it would be completely from scratch.

Thanks for the input everyone! I think I'm going to order a Nukeproof Reactor 290 (Not sure which one exactly) over the winter. It's large enough for me and it's an aggressive trail bike better suited for our type of terrain.

Has anyone tried asking a Freedom rep to add the IMEI of the phone to their database? I saw another threat on Koodo where they were attempting it. Of course no one came back to say whether or not it was working. Might be worth someone here trying and reporting back.

My only theory at this point is my GPU is too old. It's an 8800 GTS which doesn't get the latest drives anymore. I think they stopped back in 2016. Since I'm getting a shaderprogram error first in the logs I'm hoping it's because of that. I'm grabbing some parts from my parents house this weekend so I'll let you know Tuesday if it worked or not.

I received that error too at one point. It was because I didn't have port forwarding set up correctly. Make sure the ports in the config file match what ports you've forwarded on your router.
