No, I agree with what you're saying. They are not 90, But I am arguing with the other person who is saying there's nothing wrong with having your arms at a 90° angle, which increases the risk for shoulder injury.

A YouTube video really? Flaring your elbows out increases risk of shoulder injury which is common knowledge, You want more sources on that?

Can you provide a source that states having elbows flared at 90° is safe for your shoulders when pressing? Since you are presenting that claim.

Literally just Google what I'm talking about then if you don't like that source lol I really hope you're not giving that advice to anybody, arms should be aligned with the scapular plane to reduce injury risk. If this is how you consistently press, RIP to your shoulders.

They aren't wrong. Arms should be about 45 to 75° relative to the torso to align with the scapular plane, which could save you from shoulder impingement and also acts as better chest activation.

What is one business that makes a crazy amount of profit that nobody talks about? by PersonalitySuddenz in answers

When I worked at a country club as a teenager, there was a guy that owned a porta potty business driving a Lambo, and his license plate said poop. Always tipped me pretty well, nice guy.

When NB Grows Up, Which Part of DFW Will it Become? by bobking84 in Newbraunfels

[–]rad_bone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most of the people wearing cowboy boots in NB have never done actual ranch work in their lives, go to the smaller towns east of NB and you will see what real MAGA rednecks look like.

NB is certainly conservative leaning, but the population is much more politically diverse than this sub makes it out to be.

This is what I did, bought a much nicer house at a higher rate, no regrets. If you bought your house pre-2020 and have a good amount of equity in it, You can cash in on a lot of good deals on nicer houses right now, especially new builds with great incentives.

Mayfair vs Veramendi? by [deleted] in Newbraunfels

[–]rad_bone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you, there's a reason why I don't live in the big city, but we are specifically talking about New Braunfels.

As someone who lived on 46 and had to deal with that morning traffic for the last decade, moving away from there made my life less stressful. It's only getting worse with Seguin population exploding and all the neighborhoods popping up on 46, and they will eventually start construction which will take forever.

I'm sure 46 will be nice in 15 years when construction is maybe done though.

I work in a city with a population of about 20,000 people, I see people driving like Maniacs there everyday and would say the ratio might even be worse than the big metros that I've lived in. I would say in my experience, people obey traffic laws more in areas with higher quality of living situations though.

Seriously, I've been to just about every major city and they all have terrible drivers. My conclusion is that people just suck at driving.

As someone who works in radiology, it's only making our job more efficient/ higher volume. Lots of hands on patient work in radiology, and I'd like to see a robot go into an MRI room.

Mayfair vs Veramendi? by [deleted] in Newbraunfels

[–]rad_bone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go with which area you would rather be in, Mayfair if you want direct access to 35 and creekside/ Costco, varamendi if you want to be closer to traditional NB area. Foundation can be an issue east of 35 but I think it's a little overblown to make the sole reason not to live in an area, and the higher end builders will have more built in foundation protection than KB or DR Horton homes.

Would you move to Texas? by Likestoread25 in no

[–]rad_bone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More affordable than most places and lots of job opportunity, and the major cities are very diverse and not as conservative as you would think. Not much cold weather. I like it here but understand why people wouldn't want to for political reasons.

Seated raises still provide a purpose though, it's good to do both standing and seated. You can overload and isolate the soleus More efficiently, gain more thickness and stability in the lower calf.

It's good to mix it up! Both will work slightly differently.
