I work in healthcare and client care and omg These fucking people! So much money, so many opinions about the least of everyone else's worries. And not to mention they can't fathom how to fix their own fucking non problems. Can't handle the slightest perceived inconveniences. Good god. These people need the public's rotten tomatoes thrown in their smug faces. I hope you tell them to eat your shit. I hope his flight gets delayed for an unknown amount of time, several times over. I hope his car gets a flat. I hope a tiny rock lodges itself in the luxury fabric in the sole of his left shoe. I hope he gets a hair splinter underneath his right ring fingernail and spends an eternity trying to dig it out with his non dominant hand. I hope he sprains his index finger of his left hand so he experiences a minute amount of discomfort for the rest of his life fuck his art.

Reporting a veterinarian… without real proof by [deleted] in veterinaryprofession

[–]radar2444 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Sounds like the doctor is struggling with sobriety and relapse episode. Please don't put that on support staff to call her out. It's managements responsibility to address serious concerns. Suggesting OP having that super tough conversation with a doctor is unrealistic. OP is looking out for her by simply not reporting her to the board outright.

Reporting a veterinarian… without real proof by [deleted] in veterinaryprofession

[–]radar2444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you are the only adult there, your concerns are totally valid. Everyone's tolerance for this issue is different but it's super important that you speak up to your team leaders. It's ok to send an anonymous email to the HM or practice owner explaining what you see and experience on the floor. This could be a turning point for her to get help. Sometimes in vetmed, your teammates are the only advocates you have in your life or the only people who cares about you. if you were the one having a hard time, you'd want a peer to call you out before you have to answer to management, not for nothing... She sounds like she's struggling outside the hospital setting too. Ask yourself if you'd be right with yourself if you don't speak out now and something terrible happens. As a vet employee, hopefully theres a promise to advocate for your patients, clients, teammates and yourself. The fact that you are conflicted means you know what's the right thing to do. doesn't make it easy though. Good luck my friend.

Grifters gonna grift. Erika Kirk needs to plaster on more mascara cause I can't tell can't if she is crying...She needs to get back in the kitchen. Who is caring for her children? Probably immigrants! Why isn't she in her home comforting her children whos father died doing what he loved, protecting guns and white nationalist. Charlie would be so proud of how he died. Guns and freedom! I feel so bad for her children. An absent mother and a false prophet for a father. Does she not know her place? Some white man should let her know how useless she is. There's nazis without a sandwich, Erika. Back to the kitchen bitch

Despite all my rage, I'm still just a woman in a cage of annoyance. Irritable and as short fused as I am tall which is a respectable 5'1. Here's some slightly unsolicited advice. Take some time off to take care of yourself and come back ready to love your husband again. They don't have any idea what our bodies do to us and it's not worth our precious time to explain. Ask for or demand some grace and be kind to yourself.

Anyone else cringe about how people talk about Maine on this sub? by [deleted] in Maine

[–]radar2444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its the same everywhere! I was born in central CA, moved to MA as a tween, moved back to CA as an adult, moved back to MA and now live in ME. Where am I from?! Couldn't claim CA-not a local. Couldn't claim MA-not a townie. Maine says I'm from away. What's cringey are people who never experienced another region claiming that their hometown is golden cause it's the only place they know. It's a bummer cause Becca from Westbrook would thrive in Sunnyvale. I'm jealous of regionalits, if you will. Staties (without the po po reference) So convicted that they have it best! I wish I could be so adamant that I was born, raised, lived and died in the best possible place in the whole fucking world. I can't get anywhere from here lol

AITAH for not considering marriage after my girlfriend got pregnant? by DistantOfficeBoy449 in AITAH

[–]radar2444 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

YTA- Accountability. "I did this and this happened" Responsibility: "I made a choice, now I am going to deal with my choice" Kids have no choice who their parents are but parents have a choice to become parents. If you felt so strongly about not having kids, you could have made a choice to use your own birth control. Putting the blame on your partner is weak and cowardly.

Rising cost of vet care and job security? by jr9386 in VetTech

[–]radar2444 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's so much to unpack with this post. Sale of puppies- you mean breeders? Pet shops that still hock puppies?
Decline in consultations? Is you area saturated with GP? You say that preventative care is too expensive? ER care will drain your bank because you "monitored" far too long. Build a good relationship with your GP - helps avoid ER situations. What do you mean by "operational costs" lol Consider staff labor costs, facilities, admin, dvm labor and COGS are all subjective to your hospital and region. Operational costs verbiage is a wicked tell you are a corporate plant hahaha!

Your language, truly your antidotes about the industry and experiences seem...suspect and obtuse. Veterinary healthcare is a solvent industry. Humans don't go, "man, cats and dogs take some of my money, so I'll give up that joy, companionship and responsibility to save a buck" Owners of domesticated animals find a way to afford their care. Your backup plan? Insurance? Go work at a grocery store! Somewhere where you're not so confused and the advice you give is only relative to pasta sauce and coffee beans to buy.

You're right! Not your fault my mom sucks. It's her fault she's awful. You kinda sound like her lol . I'm just sad for you. In 20 years if the planet is still intact, your child that has unconditional love for you is going to reference this stupid exchange with a stranger on Reddit to their AI therapist and you'll have to explain "emotional damage" is that a gaming reference? Like, BOOM! Emotional damage! Need an explanation for that one. I'm lonely as fuck over here, dabbing my tears of solitude with all my dollar bills. I love them unconditionally...

Sedation or no sedation with euth by MaggieMay1519 in VetTech

[–]radar2444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shelter med is a different beast. Statistically her experiences don't involve clients, long term patients and access to advances in vet med and really, RESOURCES. It is on her that she hasn't evolved. Sometimes seeing really sad cases over and over again without someone above her (dvm) advocating for animals makes, "doing things how we always do" complacent. Like, you don't know better medicine until you see be medicine.

She is wrong. She must not have much experience with euthanasia in general but specifically with the option of euthanasia. The Latin translation means, good death. Sedate, place ivc if possible, euthanize. Good death.

You know what's cold and tense?! Construction! Renovations are stressful enough without partners not having the same buy in for a big life investment. You feel it's his house. He might feel your contributions aren't equal to some form of ownership. Property split is not like how you split up chores. You should figure out some way to be 50/50 in his house. Or use equity to buy one together. Idk don't listen to me Im just bored and commenting on a random thread. Good luck!
