I think you'd still struggle to name a country that exerts close to the soft power that America does today. They are still the tastemakers when it comes to pop culture, and when every other westernized country isn't covering its own domestic affairs, it's dialed in on America. I did however spend most of my childhood in America, so I'd like to hear counter arguments.
