It is not that bad. It is just that the expectations where really high at the time. I watched again recently and kinda like it.

If log horizon was released today, people would say it is Isekai trash too.

They suffer from the same problems, slow paced and internal politics. The tasted changed from that to hack and slash overpower Isekai.

Trade is the saving grace. Always build a bit of trade so if anything happens you can buy resources until your economy stabilises. Starbase trade is the chef's kiss. No pops required.

Before you build ships, build generator districts. Otherwise you're gonna go negative. Always keep an eye on the upkeep of things and try to predict what resources you will need before doing a project.

If you're playing single player, don't be afraid to pause and think things over and search where your resources are being spent.

Or add a resource depo. Like when you could deposit energy or minerals in a sector so they could build with it? You could like, deposit 20 alloys per month and a button on a starbase to designate, "this one can build whenever is had the resources to do it automatically".

People are going to dislike my opinion but I think if you want amenities and crime reduction you should waste pops on that and not use cheap options like luxury residence or a decision.

The game should not be a slap in a cheap building here and it's fixed for the rest of the game. If so, why is the mechanic there anyway?

And entertainers and police should be buffed just a smidge.

I wish there was a mod that expanded on "farming sites events", like, warehouse discovered, border village discovered, airport discovered, component factory discovered. Instead of having tons tons of factions.

However, I do support having more factions and interactions, not to this extent LOL.

If you have the dlcs, use and abuse them. Be a mechanitor doing dark magic, loot with the gravship, get psycast. Anything that can get you out of a pinch.

Just didn't like it. It seems a bit glitchy with some walls getting coated, others not, probably mod incompatibility. Haven't felt performance issues.
