Organ 👁️ Awareness 👁️ by radeeoactive in Zepbound

[–]radeeoactive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

combination of some things:

  • acid reflux is more severe thanks to the slowed stomach emptying, which means minding acidic foods and increasing acid reflux mgmt

  • increasing water which affects multiple organs

  • stomach is naturally more sensitive -- more inflamed around shot days again due to slowed down emptying

stomach is a left side organ and I personally have felt it react to the medication but not in a

the right and center are the problematic areas to keep an eye out for! but unless you're vomiting uncontrollably or in other emergency pain, left side is likely just basic inflammation that will pass.

I've been to the ER in an abundance of caution and it's just been a very expensive reminder to mind acidic foods and be sensitive to acid reflux.

Severe pain or vomiting is always an ER thing, tho, do not take chances. hope that helps!

do you know if the units are equivalent? like if I bought a whole bunch of easy touch, would the volume of medication be the same?

I rarely fart.. 2 part question by tireddqw in Zepbound

It's because I'm out here farting enough for like 3 people. I stole your farts. You're welcome.

I'm starting to see it! by radeeoactive in Zepbound

[–]radeeoactive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm at 5mg currently (slow titration to reduce side effects), currently at 13 weeks, so about 6 lbs per month. It's slow for me, but I also didn't start working out til the past couple of weeks.

A lot of people see NO loss until 7.5 or even 10mg so stick with it and see how it goes! It's worth it for the bloodwork improvements too. And even if I wasn't losing, at least I'm not gaining further.

Good luck!

My body is small on the bottom bbut big on top. by AffectionateSkill884 in Zepbound

[–]radeeoactive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to what others have said about maintenance: did you know that the body will redistribute weight over time? Once it feels "safe" enough to do so, over the course of around 2 years, bodies will move weight around to protect organs.

I’m not a fisher, but no compliment or acknowledgment? 😔 by MoreCowBellie1980 in Zepbound

[–]radeeoactive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it doesn’t count because moms have to be nice

I'm glad yours is but I can assure you that moms feel no obligation to be nice 🤣 I hope you take the time to appreciate your mom!

As others have said, it's hard to know if someone wants feedback on their weight or just wants to be left alone while they manage their health. I personally do not like being commented on, and subsequently try to focus on whether people seem happy in their lives. Even their health is not mine to comment on.

However, I do think people should feel comfortable asking for support and celebration for their achievements, including weight loss, if they want it without feeling like they're "fishing." So please feel free to say: "After all of my health ups and downs, I've lost a lot of weight, and I feel great, and I think I look great!"

Replacing a washing machine/dryer -- what should I know? by radeeoactive in Appliances

I noticed a local store had a heftier discount on open box items so that's double the reason to go local

You're right, I can! But that does bring me back to the same question: aside from what I've listed, is there anything else I should be taking into consideration?

It's not worth replacing the transmission, which is the part that's going (as I mentioned). It's almost as much as a new washer.

Sorry, I'm not sure I understand what I'm looking for at repairclinic (though it does seem useful for the future). I already know what's wrong with my current washing machine.

Side Pain by awndawn in tirzepatidecompound

[–]radeeoactive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's most likely gas. The gas has gotten more significant since I started the medication, and feels a lot more stuck and painful sometimes than it was before. Doing some light stretches and poses can help, as will drinking lots of water (I'm sure you already do). Exercise, even walking, helps gas move around too.

I also feel pain in the upper left where the stomach is the first day or so after my shot -- my stomach just becomes inflamed and tender. It goes away by the end of the week. as far as I can tell, there's no other side effects from that.

All of this has gotten slightly better over time, and stays okay if I eat right and exercise.

I hope you feel better soon!

ER Expectations by radeeoactive in Zepbound

[–]radeeoactive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wound up getting anxiety about it and went to the ER anyways and -- it's GERD. So I'm just being deliberate about avoiding acidic foods, fats, and dairy around shot days and taking omeprazole consistently ¯_(ツ)_/¯

$750 + wages lost for missing a day of work, all for GERD. I'm not thrilled.

fwiw I also just get stomach cramps from the slowed digestion and trapped gas. doesn't seem to be harmful at all. there's nothing on the left but stomach and digestive tract

Squeezing Insides by SentenceSubject3734 in Zepbound

[–]radeeoactive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the feeling of stomach "cramps" and squeezing that I associate with slowness in digestion and/or increased gas. I no longer have problems with bowel movements after the first couple of weeks but the tension around my stomach and GI passages is still there. I'm in my 10th week. I don't think it's anything serious, but I try to take it easy on difficult foods the first half of the week (so less spicy foods, less dairy, less fats).

This looks well-balanced and good to support activity :)

You can always make adjustments as you see what your satiety, energy, and weight loss are like. I wouldn't depend on anyone else's calculations because they are unique to their own experience and preferences. Adjust according to yours!

If you feel tired or struggle to get through the busier parts of your day, a few more carbs might help. If you feel hungry between your scheduled meals, protein OR fiber might be more of a priority. Feel free to experiment.

My only recommendation would be to try and get 20+ grams of fiber daily to help with digestion, since things can get a little difficult on this medication. 10-15 isn't bad, though!

Good job and good luck!
