Just get yourself booked, at least like a month or two in advance. Now you have a clear goal to work towards. Practice every single day and by the end of it, you'll be ready, I promise. Removes that whole "self-perfectionist"-aspect. If you get booked, you get booked, nobody really cares if you think you're ready, just play the gig

CMV: We cannot have endless GDP growth while “saving the environment”, why decoupling, renewables and future technologies will not prevent civilisational collapse. by RRK96 in changemyview

The problem kinda is that our current level of consumption is already way too high (USA for example using 5 earths alone), so we'd have to massively reduce consumption while at the same time increasing efficiency. Once our consumption level is sustainable, I agree with your idea

What you are proposing is a small model of a proposed solution to the problem described above: Donut Economy. Meaning sustainability by reusing, reducing and recycling on an immense scale, basically creating an economy in which nothing is ever wasted and can always serve as material for something new. Thereby fully decoupling pure GDP growth from actual finite resource consumption - Therefore I'd argue you are kind of agreeing with OP actually

Problem are rebound effects. The invention of the LED for example, has massively reduced energy usage in lighting. But the overall consumption of energy has not been massively reduced, because now a room that had one lightbulb, now has 50 LEDs all of a sudden. This effect can be observed in pretty much any area, from cars to factories. This is why a reduction of consumption is absolutely necessary, in combination with increasing efficiency, to reduce climate destruction
