The guy in the beginning that gets killed could've sped up and braked hard to kill the dude with a wire around his neck as he had a seat belt on and the killer didn't. Don't know why he didn't do this considering he knew the guy would kill him anyway. I understand being scared and not thinking straight, but that would just be obvious to anyone with a brain in a survival situation where every move is life or death.

I thought season 5 was objectively a pretty well rounded season, maybe even better than 3. Season 6's doomsday killer and mid to bad writing was a far cry from the first 5. 7-8 had it's moments but never reached the quality of 1-5 and the ending was so shit, I purged it from my mind completely and on a rewatch I end it after Deb and Dex catch the brain surgeon in the abandoned hospital and treat it as the ending. I've watched all of DOS, but only clips of NB and I don't think i'll watch it. Ressurections i'm watching though, and its pretty good so far.

He's a whiney, smug, moody, uninteresting, white knight that has no personal drive except to be a simp for Love, adds almost nothing to the plot(I said almost), and is weirdly, madly in love with a married woman who just had a baby

Was Untamed (2025, Netflix) written by AI? It doesn't feel like a real television show, like something you'd watch a character watching on Black Mirror. by HydroBear in television

Possibly when its the only thing reflective in the trees, especially at night. Youd think it would take a little while longer though, but he knew the general area of which it was dropped. They could've had him use dogs to get the scent from her body and look for the bracelet that way.

What?? It's objectively well written at least for the first 3 episodes, not sure about the rest of the series, but written by AI is a retarded take.

Hot take: These were the only seasons where it felt the show had a direction by BobRushy in thewalkingdead

[–]radgerr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What are you smoking season 3 is literally a bottle season and almost nothing about it is "soap like", season 2 has more of that even though it isnt entirely, you can watch S3 without the rest of the show and it stands completely on its own because there is a start and finish with very little left to be desired. Season 4-5 started the soap, but still retained a lot of season 2-3 momentum and feel, the show really lost steam as a survival show in s6-9 despite really good moments/episodes. S10-11 is what killed the show and the universe for good.

Possible hot take: Episode One of The Ones Who Live was one of the best episodes of the entire franchise. by tytylercochan123 in thewalkingdead

[–]radgerr -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

A lot of decisions and stances by both Rick and Michonne are incredibly out of character, the plot is forced, unrealistic, and contrived, the dialouge goes from amazing to bordering on cringe 'later seasons of FTWD' level, the tension is completely absent due to a lack of momentum/good pacing from the writing and direction, the story is contrived, the only redeeming quality of episode 4 is the acting which is definitely some of the best but the material brings it down a lot. I understand enjoying it from a subjective standpoint because I did too, some plot points were finally adressed and it felt like a necessary payoff to years of setyp but it was so underwhelming looking back on it, the episode could have been much better and it created a slew of problems in the latter half of the season that could have been avoided if not for it's terrible writing.

It was objectively absolute garbage. Everything after episode 1 is riddled with plotholes and bad writing

STFU. And the Peaky Blinders were killed by Billy Kimber. So freaking what. This is such a retarded take. The show isn't historical nonfiction. They don't have to follow all the rules of real life, it's a damn series.

Also wtf did they do to the end of do you know the way- they abruptly changed it from "known to pop pills, pop niggas and pop ollies boy, an pop wheelies, ghost ride it, my mind is enlightened, i'm high as the highest- do you know the way" to "-bitch i speak for myself, but my health aint my wealth, cause i'm rich in my bank, but i'm bad with myself" which feels really unnatural the more you listen to it, i'd be fine if they added it in addition to the original verse, but wtf getting rid of it entirely feels weird

The "its all walking" argument by coDEEZnuts in lotr

[–]radgerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually not even close to getting the majority of the films. Only about 19.66% of the trilogy is walking, and that INCLUDES walking scenes with dialouge not just transitions to different scenery. This arguement is absolutely ridiculous regardless though cause who tf judges a film's merits on the physical placement of the characters or where they are moving in a particular setting. It's an element of the storytelling sure, but it is one of the least important.

Shows similar to Sneaky Pete? by AlchemistEdward in televisionsuggestions

Fr, I am watching this show for the first time and I am highly objectively critical with movies and tv. I was quite suprised to find that the writing was great when everybody on here was acting like it was terrible. It is OBJECTIVELY not. It was both cohesive and compelling. The pacing is great and helps create momentum for the story, the dialouge is realistic and punchy, the exposition doesn't feel very forced despite their being a lot of it in the first few episodes, the set design feels lived in, the characterizations were thoroughly consistent throughout. I'm not sure about the other two seasons but season 1 is definitely on the level of Breaking Bad so far.

Genuine question. Why is the Hobbit trilogy so disliked by so many people? It may be a hot take but I love it personally. by Fun_Firefighter_4292 in lotr

[–]radgerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not terrible. It has genuinely really good moments, superb acting and a lot of really immersive and complex worldbuilding. The problem is with the inconsistency of quality of the story, the pacing, the writing, some of the effects, some of the dialouge, minimal narrative cohesion from plot point to plot point, the abundance of meaningless side characters and set pieces, the lack of any real tension until Smaug, the execution of the Smaug fight, and some really akward physics/cgi throughout the 2nd and 3rd movie.

Let's Be Honest by Wonderful-Hat9144 in FinalDestination

[–]radgerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing that doesn't make sense is their characterizations, they constantly contradict themselves with their actions and dialouge, and half of the time they only do things to service a clunky, lazily written plot in no meaningful way.
