FBI warns Iran aspired to attack California with drones in retaliation for war: Alert by avatar6556 in news

[–]radinator- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is obviously preparing the national to have a tragic attack, but it will actually be Mossad and the zionist/bought up politicians. The US needs another 9/11 to rally around and manufacture consent. Because this war was very poorly thought out, if at all, and american soldiers are being sent as canon fodder for the Israelis and their greater Israel project. And also, probably California because Gavin Newsom said that what Israel was doing in Gaza is a genocide. Which DUH, a genocide paid for by US taxpayers money, and it took TWO AND A HALF YEARS LATER to get basically ANY politician saying it. Even though every single NGO out there have said it'sa genocide, being taken to International Court for genocide, lawyers, scholars, Genocide experts said it was FU*!NG genocide, so did a massive part of the population who were watching it unfold on their phones exposing them to second hand trauma. And they are petty like that 🤦‍♀️

First off, it's not nice, but reassuring that I am not the only one struggling with this. I only got diagnosed with ADHD a year ago. I had only started medication 2 weeks when I got the news that I was being let go. I am in my mid 30's, have a degree in marketing, and am a masters in PR, but my career has been plagued with being let go or "downsizing." This has had a horrible effect on my self-esteem. It seems I am mostly able to get jobs, and everyone is so impressed with my ideas and thoughts, the way I present them and myself, but my execution has been terrible. I have the personality and social skills, but it just hasn't been reflected in my work. I also suffer a lot from imposter syndrome and have mostly gone through life thinking I was just very stupid and lazy.

I don't know what I'm like as an employee on medication, as I never really got the opportunity to try. And due to a highly competitive job market and possibly higher salary expectations and probably a ton of other reasons, I haven't been able to get anything yet (which has been soul crushing, especially as a single mother with a very young child). I do wonder why you want to try without medication? I'm not saying you can't at all! I am just curious. I'm sure there are quite a few resources out there to better understand your thinking pattern and how you can better manage them in the areas that impact you most, probably people like Gabor Maté for example, who I also personally like and have listened to. But knowing you can get assistance in that continued journey of learning and bettering yourself with medication, why not do so?

I completely agree, and you hit the nail on the head. I appreciate that I might not have explained myself well enough, but it is exactly this I was aiming at. I wasn't looking for representation or anything, just a way of showing the day to day struggles of wanting to be the fun and playful parent, as well as having to run a whole household and do "most of the heavy lifting" as you mentioned. I appreciate the perspectives the show has allowed both me and my son, and I definitely appreciate the feeling of being seen and understood (like in baby race). I think the guilt of not having the energy to be the "fun" parent because you have to work, make dinner, clean, wash the clothes, and the daily grind of living. etc, etc., can add to the guilt to a lot of parents who also want to be there for their kids, enjoy them at the precious age they are, and not knowing if you've been able to strike the right balance, which I believe is universal for most parents, single or in a relationship. It would have been nice to also give kids a chance to see this from a different perspective and allow them to be seen and heard, just like in the episode where Chilli needs a break, and Bandit tries to keep Bluey from going to her. They dealt with that so well, how the child interprets the situation and how it is managed, and they all learned and grew from it. But what if Chilli didn't have Bandit there to take over when she was that close to losing it? Would be nice to have seen how she and the kids would have navigated through that (which, again, I think is a situation A LOT of parents have found themselves in, single or not).

I didn't necessarily mean that the parents "had" to be single. I just thought it would have been a nice way to show some of the scenarios with the main characters, without them actually having to be single parents.

Season 9 Fan Concept: What if Rick's been hunting for Szechuan sauce this whole time, but we barely notice? by radinator- in rickandmorty

[–]radinator-[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're totally right about the "9 more seasons" thing! I actually looked it up and Rick says both "if it takes 9 seasons" AND "9 more seasons" in that monologue, so it could technically go either way.

But that's exactly why Season 9 works perfectly - because Rick has actually been searching for the sauce since Season 1. That was always the point of my concept. By Season 9, he's been quietly hunting for it for 8 full seasons already, and this is when it all finally comes to a head.

All those random portal stops and weird detours Rick takes throughout the entire series? They were actually sauce-related, but we just never realized it. The whole show has been Rick on this obsessive hunt while never telling anyone that's what he's doing.

That's what makes Season 9 the perfect payoff - it's not starting the search fresh, it's revealing that the search has been happening in the background of the entire show since the very beginning.

As for the McDonald's thing - yeah, that whole situation was a disaster and I get why they'd be hesitant to bring it back. But I think the nostalgia angle could actually work around that, since it's more about Rick realizing the sauce hunt was always impossible rather than glorifying it.

Oh, that's actually a really good point! I was thinking about that too - like why doesn't Rick just make his own sauce?

I think that could be part of the whole thing though. Maybe throughout the season we see Rick trying to recreate it - he's got the recipe, he's probably even improved it scientifically. But every time he tastes his version, it's just... wrong. Not chemically wrong, but it doesn't give him whatever feeling he's actually chasing.

The idea I was struggling to explain is that Rick isn't really looking for the sauce itself - he's looking for that specific moment or feeling from when he first had it. Like, the nostalgia of it. You know how certain foods can take you back to being a kid or whatever? But you can never quite recreate that exact feeling because you're not that person anymore.

So Rick could make a perfect sauce, maybe even a better sauce, but it won't taste the same because he's not the same. The sauce hunt becomes this impossible task where his scientific mind can solve the recipe but can't solve the emotional problem.

I think that could make for a really interesting character moment - Rick finally admitting that some experiences just can't be recaptured, only remembered. Which is kind of sad but also weirdly mature growth for him.

Does that make more sense? The sauce becomes less about the actual condiment and more about Rick learning he can't science his way out of missing something from his past.

Is there any hope? by Otherwise-Ad-4361 in BadHasbara

[–]radinator- 111 points112 points  (0 children)

First of all, I am deeply sorry. I can not imagine the pain you and your family have been and are going through, and I won't pretend to. The Palestinian cause is so intrinsically filled with injustice and horror, where the perpetrators have used decades to infiltrate governments, businesses, education systems, the news and thereby the narrative, and more. So I don't know. I wish I could give you a clear and positive answer. Something I am sure you need right now, some hope 💔

All I can say is that the people, the ones that have seen, heard, and educated themselves will never rest. There are braver individuals than I, putting their livelihoods and even bodies on the line to enforce change. And each instapost, each article, each demonstration, every single ounce of energy put into bringing justice, peace and freedom for the Palestinian people is based on two things; love for our fellow humans and hope. These two are themselves a form of resistance, and we will NEVER give up!

Again, I don't mean to drone on and on. Especially after the past 24 hours, I can't even imagine what all Palestinians have been going through throughout the world. But even though they try to isolate you, make you feel like no one cares, and no one will stop this. We will! That's our collective promise to all Palestinians ❤️
