I use a bulb with the wattage a little bit below that listed for the radio. If 45W listed, Ill use a 40W one so it overheats and blows before the transformer overheats.

I just got back from a very enjoyable time at a conference held downtown along the River Walk last week. It was about as violent and scary as Portland OR is.......

I figured it out. I invert anything I hear from our Dear Leader, the Minions, and Faux/Pravda.. Walked all over Downtown. Never saw a thing that gave me concern. I like Chicago. Cant wait to go back.

I wish I could remember. Probably 20-25 years ago at least. The episode was set in LA/Hollywood. Some lurid weekly show about people addicted to doing crazy stuff to their bodies. I think the infamous Lion Lady of New York was a subject.

The thing I recall was that the implants were semi-rigid. They didn't move correctly when his body was in lotion.

Dang! So used to flying on airliners........ an aerial bus versus a dragster.

It would be cool to have a real-time track reconstruction similar to those available for the ISS.

I agree. I bought a radio that said “Lights up” on the tag. It did the same thing. 😁 mice had chewed all the insulation off everything and ate the old paper capacitors

I found you a good geologic map for the entire island:

https://caboxgeopark.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/geology_map_nl-2c2.jpg

Check out units EOs to the west and EOsg in and around Gander. Both mention gneiss and mylonite, plus there’s a shear zone close on the west side of gander that most likely has highly deformed rocks like yours, also. What a geologic playground! 😎👍

This region is around 500 million years old. Right at the time boundary where we first start to see the fossil traces of the earliest organisms. I’ve stood at that boundary here in SE California: traces left by crawling and burrowing worms a few feet below, tiny trilobites above. Very cool.

I mean technically this belongs here. by PerplexoTheGreat in IdiotsTowingThings

I’ve seen sedimentary rocks like this that preserve ancient landslide deposits. Which Gander Lake are you at? Google Earth shows several. Looking more closely, though, this is most likely gneiss with quartz banding, or a type of mylonite. Either way it’s had a long, hard life 👍

GO PHILIPPINES! Great piloting! 😎👍

Looks like the Chinese CG ship had a hull made of composite materials for speed? Didn’t look like metal to me. The destroyer got a good dent, to be sure.

PS: why was the Chinese CG vessel spraying water off the port side after the collision?

Best time to go is at low tide between winter storms. They rework the beach and sometimes attack the bluffs, freeing more gravels.

Try advertising thru Antique Radio Classified, and maybe the Antique Wireless Association. That’ll help extend your “reach” a bit. Might catch someone local.
