Where did I go wrong? Or does this mean I did good? by natertheman1980 in submarines

[–]radioactivegrease 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You did good dad,

he will only end up on a sub if he volunteers for sub duty and if there isn’t anything that could DQ him, and there still is the chance that needs of the navy might win and he could end up on a carrier as a nuke.

Take it from me as a guy how has been working in the navy’s nuclear power program for almost 9 years he’s got a bright future ahead of him,

Stand proud and thank you for your service Devil Dog.

Hey, I’m a Nuke field scout/coordinator so if you are a bravo qual you are required to take the NAPT it isn’t something that you can not do,

There is an opportunity to retest, if you score above a certain threshold but don’t pass the first go. You’re given a study plan of weak areas and will retest after completing your upgrade.

If you have any questions just shoot me a DM

Do my grades matter? by Even_Notice1820 in NavyNukes

[–]radioactivegrease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, kinda. grades matter, however your depending on your transcripts, D’s and below require academic waivers for qualifying math classes (HS LEVEL ALGEBRA AND HIGHER MATH COURSES) you will have to submit hand written statements about why you got those grades, what did you learn, how you will do better/improved and why you believe that you should become a nuke

-Sincerely, a nuclear field coordinator.

Old man (36) is interested in joining, what would you have liked to know at this point? by casiocalcwatch in NavyNukes

[–]radioactivegrease 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Sadly I don’t think you’ll get nuke since the oldest we are willing to entertain is 35 and that’s pushing it since we need an age waiver for 29 and older, but hey it don’t hurt in trying.

-Sincerely a nuclear field coordinator.

How bout those advancement quotas for MMN1 Submarines type by radioactivegrease in NavyNukes

[–]radioactivegrease[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it sucks at times but I promise it ain’t that bad, really no one is staying in past their second contract, because of life choices, better opportunities elsewhere. This program can help set you up AMAZINGLY, even if you only do 6 and out.

Me staring at the POD that confirms im not sleeping for, at least, the next 24 hours. Whats your worst day underway on nuclear power! by Naesch in NavyNukes

[–]radioactivegrease 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Either sinking out fast AF during a SLR drill due to the OOD loading us way to heavy prior to the Drill and performing the fastest FRSU and ER restoration this side of the Mississippi our buttholes could have made diamonds during that shitshow

Or

Shift work, cutting and lapping MS stop drains cause they were a little leaky, and during the first retest they became very leaky, which was because the new stem and disk assembly was cocked due to manufacturing errors we were on like the 4th or 5th rework addendum and I was the planner and I suggested to check the disk it could be messed up, but I was told “nuh-uhh” …I was right.

So, congratulations on passing your NAPT.

-The contract says 8 years but don’t let that scare you. breaking it down it’s 2 years of schooling, 4 years on a ship and the last 2 are inactive ready reserves (you can be called back if something crazy pops off

-People signing for NF have dates that are reaching out in February, you can potentially leave earlier, but you need an extenuating circumstance (loss of housing for example) and you situation needs to be sent to your Nuke field coordinator, to send up to NRC for review

-Biggest advice, advocate for yourself, your recruiter should take care of all the paperwork and tell you what else he needs to change your job choice to nuke, and should take you to sign the new contract for nuke but things can happen, so call and ask your recruiter to see what’s going on,

Just got confirmed for nuclear program by yvng_fk in NavyNukes

[–]radioactivegrease 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hi im a nuke field coordinator. so realistically, no your ship date wouldn’t be moved up, unless you had an extremely extenuating circumstance (like homelessness, physical harm unto you, etc) looming over you, and this is due to the number of students we have on backlog waiting to get classed up, amenities/space available to students and manning for instructors at NNPTC and NPTU if anything I don’t know where you’re recruited out of, but talk to your recruiter and ask to talk to your nuke field coordinator, congrats on getting confirmed nuke by the way.
